This is how I would imagine the musical opening. Obviously words are not mine, just the staging/arrangement

PROLOGUE: Laws of Alchemy

Lights down. When a spotlight is placed on a character, a sound effect is played similar to the sound heard when Edward does transmutation by clapping.

Spotlight on VAN HOHENHEIM, standing downstage center.

HOHENHEIM: Alchemy- the science of understanding, deconstructing and reconstructing matter.

Strings play under this portion, evoking the iconic intro to the series- but in a more stripped down, ominous manner, dissonant and gradually crescendoing. Spotlight on FUHRER KING BRADLEY.

BRADLEY: However, it is not an all powerful art- it is impossible to create something out of nothing.

Spotlight on RIZA HAWKEYE.

RIZA: If one wishes to obtain something, something of equal value must be given.

Spotlight on ROY MUSTANG.

ROY: This is the law of equivalent exchange, the basis of all alchemy.

Spotlight on SCAR.

SCAR: In accordance with this law, there is a taboo among alchemists-

Spotlight on IZUMI CURTIS. Strings stop.

IZUMI: Human transmutation is strictly forbidden.

ALL, in counterpoint, walking to the front of the stage and splitting center: FOR WHAT COULD EQUAL THE VALUE OF A HUMAN SOUL?

Just before the word "soul", all look back towards center stage, where there is now a spotlight on EDWARD ELRIC and ALPHONSE ELRIC. Blackout. Then, the room floods with light. Music??? Idk

*on "of a human soul", everyone is unison

- I wanted to give the characters words that mean something to them whenever possible (Izumi has the human transmutation line because she herself attempted it, Roy and Riza get the equivalent exchange lines because they're trying to atone, etc)

Here is how this would be staged- arrows indicate the character moving towards their second position

No one:
Me: goes out of my way to make sure Roy and Riza ALWAYS end up next to each other
