Chapter 13

25 ~~ INT. Y/N'S APARTMENT-NIGHT ~~25

Y/n is sitting at her table.

She has finished her T.S. Eliot report and is working on other assignments.

She glances out the window and sees a building down the street on fire.

She hurriedly stands up and runs into her room.

She opens the closet door and exchanges her current clothes with her Lizard-Girl outfit.

She leaves the room and hurries to her apartment door.

She opens it and shuts it behind her.

26 ~~EXT. APARTMENT BUILDING ON FIRE ~~ 26

There's a crowd of people standing in front of the burning apartment building.

A woman says her child is still in the building.

Y/n exhales and runs towards the crowd of people.

Y/N
Where's the kid?

MAN
Trapped on the second floor.

Y/n nods her head and begins running towards the building.

She jumps and makes it through a second floor window.

27 ~~INT. APARTMENT BUILDING ON FIRE~~ 27

There is fire everywhere.

Y/n shields her face from the heat as she frantically looks around.

She hears the crying of a little girl.

She starts heading towards the sound.

Suddenly, she sees a man running up the stairs to her left.

He reaches the landing and notices her.

The man is Peter.

Y/N
Peter?! What are you doing here?! I thought you gave this stuff up!

PETER
I did, but I don't wanna sit around while someone is in danger!

Y/N
So you like saving people after all! Even though you're risking your own safety trying to save this kid! Just wait outside and I'll get her!

PETER
No! We're a team! Remember?!

Y/n smiles.

Pieces of the building start falling around them.

Y/N
Alright, you wait here while I get her then! You can make sure the pathway is clear!

PETER
Okay!

Y/n runs forward and stops in front of a door.

Y/N
I'm coming in! Stand away from the door!

Y/n kicks the door open with her leg.

It slams open.

She steps in.

Suddenly, pieces of the ceiling start falling.

Y/n runs forward out of the way.

Y/n listens to the crying and hears it coming from the closet in front of her.

She walks up to it and opens the doors.

The little girl is hiding in there among the coats.

Y/N
Hey, it's gonna be okay. I'm here to help you, alright? I'm gonna get you out of here.

Y/n leans forward and picks up the kid.

She starts running out of the room.

She runs through the open doorway right as the room gets completely engulfed in flames.

She's running back to where Peter is standing, when suddenly the floor gives out.

There's a huge gap of floor now missing.

Y/n backs up a little bit as more flames engulf the building.

Peter is watching her expectantly.

She starts running and jumps.

She makes it to the other side and hands Peter the child.

Y/N
Let's get out of here.

PETER
Right.

They run down the stairs and make it out through the door.
