A/n - hey guys! here's the next part, we are almost at halfway mark of the story if not more.

Six months later

"Good morning Mishti Memsaab, sir aap ka breakfast table pe wait kar rahe hain" she was greeted by her maid that sunny morning.

Slowly getting up, sitting on her bed, she stretched her arms and stifled a yawn. She looked around the room that now belonged to her since past few months. After her grandfather got this mansion for himself, they soon realized he needed his family around. A man in late sixties and the kind of work that kept him so busy, it was imperative that someone was needed to take care of him. Sure, there were hordes of servants to take care but the warmth and love could only be provided by a family.

So mishti and her badi ma-bade papa decided that she would spend most of her week at Agarwal Mansion and some of her time at Maheshwari sadan. And when they declared this arrangement to him, they did not miss the sheen of tears in Mr. Suresh Agarwal's eyes. He was blessed to have such a loving family, albeit late in his life.

She got ready for the day and descended down the stairs. A servant quickly came to her with a tray containing stack of newspapers, as she was almost at the bottom of the stairs to go to breakfast table. He presented her that day's newspaper, a habit of reading them first thing in the morning, everyone knew she was accustomed to.

'Like grandfather, like granddaughter' the headline of that day's newspapers read, along with Mishti's photo with her dada ji, BM, and BP where her dada ji was feeding her a sweet and everyone looked on at the proud man.  And why wouldn't they? Mishti Agarwal had surely made them proud. It was grand inauguration of their new office which she had set up. Helping setup a new branch of one of their many ventures, Agarwal foods, was no joke. But with her hard work and dedication, Agarwal foods not only started supplying products in Rajkot and Gujrat but also outside the state. It was a very beneficial addition to the group and board of directors were impressed with her. There was no doubt that if she inherited her values and kindness from BM, BP, then she inherited her intelligence from her grandfather.

"Good morning Mishti beta" she heard her grandpa calling out to her from the breakfast table. A bright smile adoring his face, a testimony of how proud she indeed made him

"Good morning dadu" she reciprocated the smile. But he didn't miss how that smile didn't reach her eyes. Even though he had known her for barely a year now, she was still his granddaughter, his own flesh and blood. And no matter how much she tried, how much immersed herself in the work, he was not unaware of the silent suffering of her heart. She was not over HIM.

But he did what a supportive grandfather would do, he stood by her. Lending his shoulder when she wanted to lean on, giving her company to finish tubs of ice cream when she felt gloomy, boosting her confidence whenever she felt low and telling her it was ok whenever HIS mention came in the discussions.

And mishti thanked her Kanhaji for that. He had surely compensated for the lack of parental love and now the betrayal of someone with such an amazing grandpa and a loving badi ma-bade papa.

So she tried her best, to move on, to not let anything affect her and not give pain to her family. But she still used to feel sadness enveloping her every time her car passed in front of that restaurant, or every time when the mention of 'Rajvansh's came up. Her break-up had affected kuhu-kunal's relationship too. While it wasn't called off, their wedding was postponed indefinitely. And to her surprise, Varsha aunty and kuhu didn't show her any apparent displeasure, or didn't ever taunt her, at least not on her face. In fact, kuhu tried to be a friend to her, as if to mend a relationship they once shared as kids. Probably they started trusting her after all? If they did, good for them, she thought.

"Ben ba, come and have breakfast. Kab taka aap yaha aise baithi rahengi?" Parul pleaded meenu like every morning.

"Jab tak mera bada beta wapas nahi aa jata Parul (till the time my elder son doesn't return)" she replied going through his room, cleaning it, arranging it, making it ready for his return as she did every day past six months.

Yes, Abir was no longer staying in Rajvansh mansion, he had left the same evening when he returned after meeting her. He could not share a roof with those people who were responsible for playing with his life. He missed his nanu though. But then his ever loving, ever understanding grandfather only showed him the path. He made him understand that it was ok, what he was doing wasn't wrong. He also helped him understand what he needed to do, to be a man she deserved, to coax HER, to bring mishti back! Of course, he was going to do that, in fact he was doing just that! Just few more weeks and he would be ready to face her again, make her understand why he did what he did and how he tried to redeem himself. Then it would be upto her to forgive him or to give him more punishment. He sincerely hoped the former.

"Abir Rajvansh wins young innovator of the year award" she read another news headline as she was eating her breakfast while reading the paper. She tried to ignore the urge to read the news but finally gave in. she looked at his photo that was printed along with the article. He looked more thin, his otherwise-charming smile looked plastic and his soulful eyes looked as if someone had stolen the light out of them. She didn't know why she felt pang of pain in her heart seeing that.

Was it a possibility that as much as she was suffering, he did too?

She was not ready to find out, not yet. And she didn't know if she will ever.
