Chapter 5

A girl lay on the grassy ground, the moon shining bright above her. Despite the cold night, Astraea felt warm. It's been a while since she got out due to the past incident related to the third Princess. A lot of eyes watch Astraea's movement.

"Are you alive?". Astraea's long white eyelashes flutter, revealing her jeweled blue orbs that met a pair of ruby owned by the warlock.

"It's been a while, Lucas''. She smiled at the man who was looming over her. Lucas couldn't help but sighed, taking off his cloak before draping it to the girl.

The cloak covered Astraea's head to her knee.

"You make me look like I died". She scoffed before pulling it down to her neck. Lucas was now sitting beside her, staring at the endless dark sky field with millions of stars.

"Aren't you tired of looking at the same sky every night?" The warlock curiously questioned.

"Nope, not at all." She replied.

"Do you want to experience something different?" Lucas urged Astraea to say yes, the fifth Princess squinted her eyes, the man beside her was too suspicious.

But the thought of doing something she hasn't experienced sounds thrilling to her.

"Then show me what that is". Lucas grinned mischievously at her before snapping his fingers. In a second Astraea fell on the ground, butt first.

"Ow, can't you inform me first before doing that?". She hissed before getting up and patted the dust on her new clothes to her surprise.

"Huh? What's with... who are you?". She asked and started to panic.

"Disguise". Lucas simply answered. Astraea's lips form an 'O' shape, walking closer to him, she pinched his cheeks.

"Lucas?! How? Your".

"You're young!". Lucas chuckled at her.

"I'm a great magician. I can do everything I want." He boosted, her eyes sparkled in amusement.

"Then you can turn yourself into an old man, how about a baby? Can you do it? Show me!". She eagerly said, Lucas then flicked her forehead.

"We're not in the Palace dumbass". Astraea pouted but in a split second her eyes widened.

"Outside?!". Looking behind her, she found out that they were in an alley. Excitement took over her as she ran out of the exit, she was greeted by a busy street.

Lights from lamps lighten the whole district. Something fun seems to be happening tonight.

"Lucas, where were we?" She asked, eyes shining due to excitement.

"Vesper Empire, today is their Celestial Festival". Lucas explained which makes the albino one to be bewildered.

Vesper Empire is a month-long journey from Obelia but here they are with just a snap of fingers. Lucas then pointed up, causing the Princess to look up.

Lucas was satisfied with the reaction he got. Astraea looks like an innocent child right now.

"Goodness, look at that constellation. This is so beautiful." her eyes would pop out at how wide her eyes were, everywhere her eyes landed all she could say was 'beautiful'.

Vesper Empire was known for its night sky field with constellations and the amazing traits that pass down only to royalties. If Obelian royalties had a pair of jeweled cerulean eyes, Vesper royalties had starry night hair and bi-colored eyes that consist of blue and magenta color.

"Lucas! Let's go there!" without any thought Astraea pulled the ravennette to the stall with a different kind of mask, picking one and trying it to the warlock. She couldn't help but laugh at how the cat masked looks good on him.

"Ha?! What's this?". Astraea pointed at the stick with meat, onion, and vegetables.

"Its kebabs, haven't you tasted one?". The albino shook her head as an answer, signing, Lucas ordered five of it since he knew very well that one is not enough for her once she tasted it.

A satisfied moan left her lips once she took a bite of the meat, the juiciness of it exploded in her mouth. Lucas watches the princess eat and chat with the seller. Astraea keeps praising the man who just laughed, of course, it warms his heart seeing her enjoy his specialty.

The two played at the dart game, betting that whoever hit the red target will be the winner. Lucas, being a big cheater, used his magic, earning a smack from Astraea when she found out. Those who have watched the two couldn't help but awe at how cute they were.

Before they end their night, Astraea and Lucas sit at the edge of the bridge with a lantern in their hands waiting for the signal to let it fly. Astraea was tired but delighted at the event.

"Lucas". The said man glanced at the girl beside her.

"Thank you for bringing me here". A tear slipped at her jeweled eyes due to the overwhelmed happiness. Lucas was surprised to see her cry, hiding it by flicking the albino's forehead.

"You don't need to cry, goody to shoes". Astraea hit his shoulder hard enough to make the warlock hissed.

"Don't call me that!"

"Are you one!" Lucas retorted back.

Before an argument started Astraea's eyes caught the light flying followed by hundreds of it.

"It's time". Lighting their own lantern, Astraea excitedly pushed her lantern up to fly high.

"It's so beautiful".

"If only I could live like this. Free from them." She whispered.

"I'm really grateful for letting me experience this freedom, Lucas." Her smile is genuine. Tonight Lucas witnessed the real side of Astraea.
