haechan looked at the landscape by the window in silence.

jaemin had snapped at him an hour and a half ago, and since then, none of them had dared to open their mouths.

well, haechan hadn't. jaemin just didn't want to talk with the annoying human.

haechan still felt uneasy.

he wasn't used to jaemin being this dominant, and this scary.

it happened rarely, but when it happened, it was enough to give haechan chills.

he couldn't help but get curious though.

why was jaemin like this?

he held such a duality in his body...

sometimes, he was the silent angel everybody would love to have, helping haechan without asking for anything else in return.

but other times, he was worse than any demon could be, fearless, violent, scary, and obviously mad.

and every time he became this kind of jaemin, it seemed to hav something to do with 'donghyuck'.

donghyuck.

haechan had no idea who this person could be.

he seemed to be someone jaemin appreciated a lot.

he seemed to be someone he cared for.

but what had happened to him for jaemin to become like that?

and why did jaemin keep calling hachan as donhyuck?

"don't move, i'm coming back in a few." jaemin said before opening the door and walking out of the car.

haechan looked at the angel walking in front of the car and coming to open haechan's door.

he didn't untie him; he simply left the door open – surely for haechan to be able to breathe fresh air for a bit – and walked away towards to what looked the edge of a cliff.

the landscape from there was absolutely stunning.

they were high in the mountains, and at the top of a cliff, because haechan could see a wide forest further under them.

haechan watched jaemin sitting down on the very edge of the cliff.

his head was hanging low, as if he was looking down towards the void.

he looked sad, even if donghyuck could only see his slumped shoulders.

as much as haechan didn't want to care about him, jaemin was his angel, and he truly looked broken. this involuntarily saddened him.

he stayed there for a long while, not moving, and haechan couldn't help but wonder why.

why were they here?

why was jaemin like this?

minutes passed, and soon turned in an hour.

haechan was still since the car, waiting for the angel to stand up and come back in.

plus, he badly needed to pee right now.

he knew jaemin didn't want him to talk, and seeing his state, he surely didn't want to hear about him.

but haechan couldn't hold himself any longer.

"huh... jaemin...?" he called, the angel's name feeling weird on his tongue. he almost never called him by his name.

the blonde-haired boy turned around, meeting haechan's eyes.

he stood up, giving once last glance to the bottom of the cliff before approaching the boy in the car.

haechan's heart broke when he saw jaemin approaching with red puffy eyes and dried tears on his cheeks.

"s-sorry, i... i didn't see the time." the angel said, wiping his cheeks with his hands.

"huh... it's okay...?" haechan stared at him, weirded out by his own feelings.

"what did you call me for?" jaemin asked.

"i need to pee."

jaemin nodded, the ropes holding haechan in place disappearing instantly and freeing him.

"come." he said before walking away.

haechan furrowed his brows.

"you're not tying me?" he asked confused.

"why would i?" jaemin raised a brow.

"so that i don't escape...?"

jaemin shrugged. "there's nothing around. where do you want to go?"

"right..."

haechan sighed, following his angel.

surprisingly, he didn't feel like running away.

it may be because he had nowhere to go, but at the same time, he didn't really feel like leaving jaemin on his own in such a vulnerable state.

why? just feelings.

"there. i'm waiting for you here." jaemin said, showing donghyuck an underwood.

the boy nodded before walking in and doing his business.

he came back to jaemin after a minute.

jaemin and him walked back to the car slowly again, but haechan spoke before jaemin could enter the vehicle.

"what is this place?" he asked cautiously.

"why?" jaemin asked, looking at him in the eye.

"i-i don't know... i... huh... wanted to know why you stayed a whole hour there doing nothing..."haechan gulped.

jaemin turned his head, as if he was avoiding haechan's eyes.

"i lost someone i love there." jaemin sighed.

haechan looked at his angel sadly. "i'm sorry..."

"you don't need to be." jaemin replied. "i guess i'll see him again soon..."

haechan raised a brow, not really understanding jaemin's sentence.

what did that mean?

but before he could ask, jaemin opened the car's door and spoke.

"climb up. we still have some road ahead." he said.

haechan nodded, walking to his seat and fastening his seatbelt.

jaemin didn't even bother tying him to his seat this time.
