Part 19 : No shame in the past

Gabby looks at Robert who looked ashamed of the whole ordeal.
"Who are you again?" gabby asks
"I'm lieutenant hasting" he says confidently
"Who? Never heard of you but you know who I did hear of Robert Sullivan he is legendary in the academy and the department  and i'm so grateful to have him prepping me to be the best most brave , badass and compassionate firefighter I could be, compassion you clearly lack!! " she replies going off on him
"Sweetheart if he is your mentor go get another one because..." he replies but is cut off by an even angrier gabby
"First of all, it's Gabriella Lopez, not sweetheart I'm not a five-year-old girl in front of you misgonsitc illiterate piece of..... I'm a grown woman who worked  her ass off to wear this uniform you don't get to belittle me or my mentor " she looks at Robert who's eyes were basically out of his skull at this point
"Insubordination... I'll be complaining miss Gabriella Lopez" was all he could say before turning around and leaving with his crew.
"You didn't have to...." Robert says but is cut off by Gabby
"No problem we don't even have to talk about this ever again..if YOU don't want to ," she says understanding why he kept it hidden from her
"I just assumed you knew since the team is always gossiping" he replies innocently
"Yeah not really the listen to gossip kinda girl" she replies sassy making him chuckle since he did notice her getting up whenever gossip occurs.
" two years ago andy and I had a near-death experience. We were on aid car and there was a wind storm and our aid car was run off a cliff. My leg was paralyzed in the accident and I developed regional pain syndrome and I was dependent on drugs and I stole fentanyl when my prescription ran out and my doctor wouldn't prescribe more." he says still avoiding eye contact
"I'm glad you're better now," she says emphasizing she lightly brushes his arm
"Yeah I had surgery and I got clean, also got demoted to probe from battalion chief..you're probably disappointed in me. Stealing and drugs must be pretty big deal in ur religion" he says
" sully..God is the most merciful and addiction is a disease and now you're cured and you did your best and got clean. I'm so proud of you. You've overcame so much.You're one of the best firefighters I know.. You've molded me into the first responder i am today and I'm sure your gonna be my battalion chief and Andy my captain one day there is no doubt in my mind that is going to happen plus you're my big brother. We're family". She says smiling at him
He takes her into a side hug since he couldn't put into words the gratitude you felt having reunited with her.
It was good for him to have a best friend besides his wife. One he did kinda raise for a while but he was glad she was there for him regardless.
"Can you not mention this Andy. I don't wanna upset her" he asks
"Sure no worries but kinda tough she reads Us really well" she replies
Meanwhile at the station
It was a pretty slow day
Conrad comes around asking for gabby but she is out so he is greeted by her sister
"Gabby is out isn't she" he asks
"Yup..what brings you around" she asks sipping on her coffee casually
"She has been avoiding me" he says
"Really why do you think so?" She replies nonchalantly
"I don't know you live with her you tell me" he replies a little annoyed by her sternness
"Man you've known her for years. I've known her for a couple of months but from what I gathered she runs away when she is avoiding a topic"
She replies
"So unhelpful like what topic would that be" he asks impatient
"Maybe you guys saying I love you to eachother when she was in prison maybe that topic" she replies teasingly
"We.. she meant it platonically," he says
"Yeah sure" she says giggling
"Did You see A thing" he asks curiously
"Like what sparks yeah I did" she replies "but the question is did you mean your I love you Is romantic or what?" she says getting up in his business
"I need to go to the hospital Meredith already hates me bye say hi to gabby for me" he says literally running away from the Herrera question
"Ahh.. Stupid kids" she says sarcastically sipping her coffee
But is interpreted by calls left and right until shift ends 
(At surrera home)
"I'm exhausted," says gabby throwing her bag on the floor and sitting on the couch
"Today's shift was unreal" andy comments
"Tell me about it" Robert says
They all go freshen up and shower.
Gabby is trying to fall asleep but she kept on getting flashbacks of her childhood she couldn't differ if they were real or made up. Every time her eyes rested for a minute she was startled by those flashes.
"I Should just go get some water or something," she thinks to herself. Her body was burning up she woke up to a pool of her sweat.
Meanwhile in Robert and andy's room. Andy and Robert, we're cuddling enjoying each other's company went things take a heated turn. They go from spooning to making out intensely. Robert kissing andy's neck which she, in turn, lets out a loud moan and soon enough they're both moanings which were unfortunate because poor gabby was bothered by her nightmare flashes and went to their room to try and talk about it something she wouldn't normally do but was trying it for her sake, she soon regrets it when she hears the moans among other sounds.
Okay
"This is the worst of icks" she exclaims to herself. She just heard her foster brother/brother in law and biological sister having sex. It was disturbing, to say the least. She quickly went to bed and messaged andy "you will be paying for my therapy for what I just heard and pictured🙄" she sends.
"OPPS😂 sorry..." Andy sends back.

Making gabby chuckle she was happy for Andy and Robert but soon after the loneliness and darkness she felt was unreal. Her bed was comfortable which in a weird way made her even more paranoid comfort she wasn't use to. She has always slept one the floor she didn't have a bed just a couple of stone like pillows and comforter. She moved to the floor maybe the familiar feeling of coldness and hardness would soothe her to sleep and it did work for a bit she asleep but the nightmares continued it wasn't like anything she had experienced before they were hyper realistic memories her mind had erased to protect her but maybe seeing those police reports jogged her memory into remembering them again.
In the morning
Andy goes by to gabby room
To check on her but mostly know how much of her and Robert's late night activities did she hear.she cracks her bedroom door to find a restless gabby laying on the floor. "What are you doing on floor?" She asks gabby who jerks upwards quickly when she realized Andy's presences
Gabby doesn't reply since she couldn't piece together how to explain her odd behaviors
Andy quickly noticed how tired she looks puffy eyes that were a little swollen and sweat that was all over her like she ran a marathon in her sleep
"Did you even sleep last night" she asks concerned
"Look I'm gonna be real honest with you because I'm trying to be better and all. I couldn't sleep whenever my eyes drifted....I saw him and everything he did to me things that were wiped out of my memory but it's probably just because it's the day after the whole jail and police reports. I'll be fine don't worry" she says Andy just goes up to her and hugs her.
"But if you do need to talk about those things I'm here alright" andy says while squeezing gabby tightly

"You too didn't sleep last night but for more exciting less depressing reason" gabby says teasing Andy
"Oh god stop" andy says hitting her playfully
"I heard you say the same thing yesterday but instead it was oh god don't stop" gabby teases Andy who was red as a tomato
"Well your boyfriend did come by the station yesterday for you" andy teases back
"For what and also not my boyfriend" gabby replies serious
"Inquiring about why your avoiding him also confessing his dying love for you" andy says sarcastically
