Chapter 2: The First Case

It was the next and very first morning of the Kazugiri twins in the manor. The sun was shining, the birds were singing and everything was beautiful.
"Good morning Karina" Kiril said as he stretched.
"You mean good morning to you, didn't sleep remember" Karina said
"Right, well we better get ready."
The twins got ready for their morning. They brushed their teeth, washed their faces and combed their hair.
"Kiril there's something I have to tell you. It's Sebastian he's-." Karina said. But she was interrupted by a knock on the door.
"My lord, My lady, are you awake?"
Yikes! It was Sebastian!
"He's up earlier than expected!" Karina yelped
She was about to get the door but then she noticed..

"Your eye contacts Kiril!!"
Kiril had forgotten to wear his red eye contacts to make him look like a demon. He rushed to the bathroom, locked the door and put them on quickly.
Doing that, Karina opened the door for Sebastian.

"Good morning my lady, did you sleep well?" Sebastian said mockingly. Knowing well that Karina was a demon and she didn't need sleep.
"Funny" Karina replied.
"Your brother. Where is he?" Sebastian asked.
"He's in the bathroom getting changed." Karina replied.
Sebastian nodded yet he noticed a strange pair of glasses sitting at the post. Strange, none of the twins wore glasses, Sebastian thought.
"Oh those are um- Kiril's reading glasses!" Karina said. She can't let Sebastian know her brother is a reaper....not yet at least.
After a few minutes Kiril walked out and saw his sister with Sebastian
"Good morning Sebastian." Kiril said
"Good morning my lord. Hope you slept well." Sebastian said bowing.
"If you both will follow me, I shall take you to the dining room. The young master is waiting."
Sebastian took the twins down the hall and into the dining room.

Kiril was currently speaking to his sister telepathically:

"You were about to mention something about Sebastian earlier...what was it?"

"Well- he is...a demon."

"What?! How?!"

"His scent..wasn't a human scent at all. It smells like a demon can you not smell it to Kiril?"

"I do smell it. You're right."

Sebastian smirked knowing full well what the twins were thinking.
"Here we are, the dining room." Sebastian said as he opened the doors revealing a large space. There, the twins saw a young boy with navy blue hair wearing an eyepatch siting at one end of the table.
"My lord, my lady, this is my master. The head of the Phantomhive manor." Sebastian said bowing.
The young boy looked towards their direction.
"You must be the Kazugiri twins correct? Welcome to my manor, My name is Ciel."
"It is a pleasure to meet you Ciel Phantomhive." Karina said.
"Do call me Ciel. After all, you will be staying here from now on right?" Ciel asked.
"Yes of course Earl- I mean Ciel." Kiril said.
"Splendid. Have a seat. Sebastian fetch us breakfast and hurry. We have things to discuss." Ciel said

After a while, Sebastian came out of the kitchen and served fresh pancakes and earl grey tea to Ciel and the twins.
While they ate, Ciel finally spoke...
"Sebastian informed me about something."
The twins glanced at Ciel.
"About what?" Karina asked.
"You know Sebastian is a demon correct?" Ciel asked
The twins looked at each other and then back at Ciel saying nothing.
"No need to be shy now.." Ciel said. "After all you couldn't be disposed of now you know about the Phantomhive secret.
What did Ciel mean by "disposed of"?
"What do you mean?" Karina asked
"Sebastian has also informed me that you both are demons yourself yes?" Ciel said sipping his tea
"Not quite but you are almost there." Kiril smirked
"Oh? What do you mean by that?" Sebastian questioned as he stood next to his master.
"You see, I myself am not a demon like my sister." Kiril said.
"If you are not a demon, then what are you?" Ciel asked curiously.
"Well-..." Kiril started. He took off his red eye contacts revealing his true light green eyes and wearing his glasses.
"I am a reaper you see." Kiril finally said.
Sebastian and Ciel looked at him with shocked eyes.

"A reaper" Ciel thought
"No wonder he smelled different from his sister's scent" Sebastian thought

"How are you both related if you are both from different species?" Ciel asked
There, the twins told their back story. How they were once angels that were cursed which caused them to be banished from the gates of heaven and causing one to be a demon and the other a reaper.

"I never knew that." Ciel said
"Yes, but that is what happened to us." Karina said shrugging.
By this time, everyone has finished breakfast.
"Next order of business. This." Sebastian said holding a red envelope. It was a letter from the queen.
"The queen has ordered us of our first case." Ciel said
"Go on.." Karina said
"The case of the Dark Cryptic" Sebastian said
"Basically this person kills people and leaves cryptic messages to the police and nobody has solved them ever since 3 months. The queen has ordered me solve the case and bring this villian to justice." Ciel said
"So you want us to help you?" Karina asked
"Precisely." Sebastian said. "With a demon and reaper such as yourselves, we will be in good shape"
"Fine we will help you." Kiril said
"Excellent..our first stop is an alleyway where a person was killed there. Let's go" Ciel said as he got up.
Kiril wore his eye contacts again and met his sister, Ciel, and Sebastian outside where they took the carriage to their first destination.

"Will! Let's follow them!! After all~ the person who just died is in the alleyway where Bassy is going!!"

"We are headed there anyways Sutcliff. Do not interact with the demon and focus on your job"

"Fine~ it seems that the earl has some visitors Will~ I wonder who they are"

"I don't care who they are. We need to get to the location at once."
