Sebastian, Ciel, Karina and Kiril have just arrived at the crime scene to where the first victim of the Dark Cryptic was.
"Good day Abberline." Ciel said
"Earl Phantomhive. I assumed the Queen sent you." Abberline said
"Yes, it is our duty. You can go now." Ciel said and Abberline left the scene
They all went to the dark alleyway where the frist victim was killed. A pool of blood surrounded the body.
"There" Ciel said pointing to the cryptic message next to the pool of blood. Kiril picked up the note covered in blood which read:
14 9 7 8 20 6 1 12 12
"It's just a series of numbers" Ciel said looking over
"Or maybe numbers that can be turned into letters" Karina said.
"What?" Kiril asked
"Look." Karina said taking out paper and pen. "The alphabet has 26 letters. If we translate the numbers into letters, we can figure out what the message says."
"Very clever indeed my lady" Sebastian bowed.
"Lets see...14 in the alphabet is N. 9 is I" Karina said writing down the translations
After a while, the numerical numbers turned into the words of..
"Nightfall"
"What does nightfall mean?" Ciel asked
"Do we have to wait I mean it is only 7:30 in the evening."
"I assume we have to go back to the manor, have dinner, and wait until the middle of the night until we have a clear." Sebastian said.
"Sounds like a plan." Kiril said.
As soon as they turned around Karina saw a red figure running and jumping from the rooftops. And a sound of....a chainsaw?!
Sebastian pulled his master, Karina and Kiril aside as the red figure jumped down with a chainsaw.
"I knew you would be here Bassy?~" The redhead squealed flamboyantly.
Sebastian sighed. "Hello again Grell, what are you doing this late at night?"
"Just doing my job as usual Bassy!~" Grell winked. But then her eyes averted to Karina and Kiril
"Oh my~ who are those cuties?!" Grell ran up to them which made the twins jump back.
"Hello there dears I'm red reaper Grell Sutcliff~ And you both are?~"
Did Grell just say reaper?!
"Well I- I am Karina and this is my twin brother Kiril." Karina said slowly averting her eyes away. She couldn't believe that she was face to face with a reaper.
Grell was continuously flirting with Karina. "My aren't you just a pretty rose aren't you darling~"
Sebastian got agitated but he knew he had to keep the Kazugiri secret.
"Grell what are you doing here?"
"Well I was just about to reap the victim's soul and be on my way!~" Grell replied
Karina looked at the body beside her...a fresh and delicious soul....she hasn't eaten a delicious soul in centuries. She was trying so hard to contain her hunger. Sebastian, Ciel, and Kiril could see this.
"Karina, do not give in to your hunger.."
"I CANT!!"
With that, Karina's eyes flashed a bright red and tried to get the soul, only to be stopped by a scythe coming from the roof pinning her wrist against the wall of a building.
"There they are" a voice said.
Grell gasped and looked up. "William, Ronald, there you are!!~"
The two reapers were on top of the building. A man who had yellow and black hair leaned on his lawnmower. While the other man who had black hair used his scythe to pin one of Karina's wrists to the wall to stop her from consuming the soul.
"I knew I sensed a foul scent and here it is." William said as he and Ronald jumped down to where the rest were.
"Oh so you're not really human are you darling~" Grell smiled bearing her teeth.
"I'm sorry who are they?" Karina said
"Ronald Knox, and that is me and Sutcliff's superior, Mr. William T Spears." Ronald said
William's scythe is still pinning Karina's wrist with no remorse. She was a demon after all.
"Do you mind!" Karina said
With that, William pulled his scythe back causing Karina to rub her wrist.
"Back to business." William said as he used his scythe to reap the victim's soul. The twins were stunned when they saw lots of films flying around.
"So that's how it's done..." Kiril whispered
"Oh what do you mean darling? You're a demon aren't you? Why would you be interested in a reaper's work?" Grell asked
"Bold of you to assume that I am a demon like my sister." Kiril said as he took off his red eye contacts revealing his green eyes to the reapers and he wore a pair of glasses. Grell, William, and Ronald were shocked for they saw Kiril was a reaper.
"Y-you're-!" Grell said shocked
"A reaper yes. Well looks like I won't be needing this now." Kiril said putting the eye contacts away.
"Aren't you both twins? Surely you must be the same species?" William asked
"We are twins." Karina said
"But long story short there was a curse that was placed upon us and thus we are a demon and a reaper." Kiril said
"I still have qualities like a reaper though. I can eat a bit of human food and rest a little but not fully." Karina said
"As for me, I have some qualities of a demon. I have a demon form, my senses are enhanced but I still need lots of sleep." Kiril said
"Can we just get back to work?" Ciel stated. "We are on a case to solve the Dark Cryptic."
"We can help along the way if you desire Bassy~ We have a list of the next victims that are scheduled to die by the Dark Cryptic. If you are interested~ we can catch the culprit." Grell suggested
"Are you insane? There is no way I am working with three reapers. We aren't even acquainted with each other." Karina said coldly
"Acquainted or not, I am not about to work with other demons. No thank you." William said
"It does not matter!" Ciel yelled. "The Queen entrusted me with specific orders and we have to do it! Let's all go back to the manor, eat dinner, wait until nightfall and look for more clues."
"Yes my lord." Sebastian said bowing. "Now everyone follow me."
Karina rolled her eyes and followed Kiril. While Grell and Ronald followed behind William.
"There is something about that demon....I can't put my finger on it..."
