Okay, I am rewriting the next few chapters lol. I hate how I wrote them. I am rereading this, cringing my face off. This chapter shows more of a understanding Derek, for the original he was untrusting of Meredith.

Somehow, before her nightmare had gotten worse, Meredith had woken up. Her eyes slowly adjusted to the brightness of the room. The drapes were pulled to the sides, and the sun was peeking in through the window. Derek was right; she was safe—for now.

Meredith looked around the room, feeling a heavy weight on her chest. Derek's head was rested on her stomach, and his arms were loosely wrapped around her torso. He looked exhausted, like he'd been up all night. But at the same time, he looked peaceful. She looked over at the clock on the table. It was currently nine am in the morning, way past the time that they usually wake up.

Cautiously, Meredith began to get out of his hold, trying not to wake him up in the process, but it was no use trying. Derek was awake, and as soon as she began to move away, he just pulled her back toward him anyway. She sighed, once again trying to pull away from him. This time, it didn't work well either.

"Stop," Derek mumbled, rubbing his face against the fabric of her shirt. He must have thought she was still sleeping, trying to run away from him. She tried pulling away a third time, only to hear Derek whine, "Meredith, You're okay."

"I'm trying to get up. I need to pee," She winced, not having to use the restroom whatsoever. She wanted to escape his hold, and call someone. Someone from her dream. Finn, the boy who saved her and the one who went through hell and back with her. The man who understands the situation.

"Okay, Okay." He mumbled, finally letting her go as she practically squirmed out of his grasp. He watched as she left for the bathroom, grabbing her phone and closing the door behind her. Derek couldn't help but wonder what she actually was doing.

Meredith sat on the bathroom floor, flipping through her phone, looking for Finn's number. It took her a while, but she had found it. She took in a deep breath before pressing the call button; she was nervous. Thoughts were running through her mind. Would he even answer? And what would he say? She figured by calling him, he could help her in some way. But after everything they had been through, maybe not.

"Hello?" A crisp voice spoke over the phone, sending shivers down her spine. His voice sounded deeper and more masculine than the last time she heard his voice.

"H-hi, it's me, Meredith," She spoke, her voice shaking as she spoke. She grew nervous at the second.

"Well, isn't this a surprise? I missed you,"

"Finn, what do you know about your dad?" Meredith asked, getting what she wanted to say off her chest. "What do I do about them getting out?"

"Cutting to the chase, huh?" Finn chuckled over the phone. "I thought you wanted to talk about us. We have been on and off for years."

"We haven't talked since I left for medical school; I-I engaged to Derek," Meredith stammered, not knowing what to say. She knew Finn would push and push, so she had to say something "I need your help, you're the only person I can think of right now."

"Meredith, you don't even know if they are going to come for you." Finn sighed. On the other end, there were scuffle noises and a clicking sound in the background, followed by various other noises.

"Well," she scuffed, pausing for a second to hear sounds in the other room—it sounded like Derek getting up and moving around. She focused back on the conversation, trying to prove her point: "I'm terrified, Finn. I don't want it to happen. Tell me what I can do. You're the one who knows this kind of stuff."

"Mer, I-"

"It's Meredith."

"Fine, Meredith," he said annoyed. "Nothing is going to happen. I assure you, but if it comes down to it and something happens, I'll surely help you."

"Meredith?" Derek's voice rang behind the door. He sounded worried as he stood behind the door. "Are you alright?"

"Yeah, I-I am just talking to an old friend." She answered, hearing a scuff on the other end of the phone.

"Old friend, huh?" Finn spoke, "We were more than old friends, Meredith."

"Meredith, please let me in," Derek spoke, trying to turn the doorknob only to find it was locked. He grew more worried when she didn't respond. He began to shake the door handle more until he heard the door click on the other end.

The door opened for him, with Meredith standing on the other side with her phone in her hand. She wore a worried look on her face like she was scared about something. All he could do was sigh in relief, worried that she was doing something to hurt herself. But she was only on the phone with someone named Finn.

"Hello, you still there?" Derek heard coming from the phone. He couldn't help but frown, his worry adding away. Why was she lying to him? He needed to shake that feeling away. She was stressed out, he knew she had her reasons.

"Finn, I gotta go," Meredith spoke, hanging up the phone before he could even continue.

"Meredith, what is going on?" Derek asked, trying not to jump to conclusions. He stepped into the bathroom and stood there for a second, waiting for her to answer. Watching as she ran a hand through her hair and took a deep breath.

"Finn is the son of one of the men who kidnapped me," Meredith said, interrupted by Derek, who was confused.

"Why were you talking to someones son who kidnapped you?"

"He saved me," Meredith stammered, feeling Derek's eyes on her. But she wasn't looking at him; she was looking at the floor. She felt ashamed of what had happened in her past and didn't want to talk about it.

"Why are you hiding in the bathroom?"

"B-because I didn't want to bother you, Derek, I-I don't know."

"Meredith, You can trust me. You can never bother me." Derek spoke, he tilted his head a little and gave her a soft smile. He wanted her to let him in, he wasn't mad or upset. He was trying to understand her, but he needed to be patient.

"Derek," Meredith said, pausing to look up at Derek. He looked worried but curious at the same time. He was focused on her, waiting for her to continue. "Finn and I went through a lot while I was kidnapped. We were forced to do things, things I can't even talk about because it was bad. Really, really bad. We dated after he helped me out, but we were toxic for each other."

"Okay," He whispered, still having his attention on her. He was a little worried about the fact she was hiding in the bathroom, talking to another man. But he trusted her, he knew she wouldn't cheat.

"I didn't want to explain who he was! He was the only person I knew who could help me out of this mess." Meredith told him, feeling like she needed to explain everything, worried that he was jumping to conclusions. In reality he really wasn't, well trying not to.

"You don't have to explain yourself. It's okay," Derek reassured her, his hand reaching up and tucking the lose strand of hair behind her ear "Just, please tell me if something is wrong okay?"

"I-I " She stammered, watching as his concern was on her. Tears growing in her eyes. She was scared and he could tell.

"It's okay," He whispered walking up to her and hugging her "I trust you. I am worried that's all."
