From my old account

"Congratulations to Y/N, our newest Knight of the Knight Academy!" She smiled that beautiful, sweet smile that Fledge had always been smitten by. Gaebora handed her the new uniform. It was F/C, her favourite colour. Y/N's eyes scanned the crowd of onlookers and found Fledge's eyes. His cheeks dusted pink, he couldn't help but smile back. She waved at him and he returned the gesture.

"Now, Y/N. Go put on your uniform and we can all have a fly-about, yeah?" Groose exclaimed from the crowd. Her eyes lit up at the idea.

"Yeah! That sounds great!"

Groose. She was close with him despite his sour reputation as a bully. He even picked on Link, the 'coolest guy at the Academy' (dubbed so by Fledge himself). As Fledge watched Y/N walk to the Academy to get changed, he couldn't help but feel sad. He felt that he'll never be good enough, not for her or anyone.

"Hey, Fledge." He heard a voice near him. He hid his sadness and responded happily, "Hi Pipit!"

Pipit saw through his façade easily.

"What's up? You looked happy a second ago." Pipit placed a hand on Fledge's shoulder.

"Ah, it's nothing. Don't worry!" He smiled at Pipit.

"Alright," Pipit replied wearily, "but you know you can come to me anytime, okay?" Fledge thanked Pipit and made his way towards the Academy solemnly.

"Fledge?" A sweet voice filled his ears. It was none other than Y/N. He smiled a genuine smile at her.

"Hey, Y/N!" He greeted her cheerily, "Well done on becoming the newest Knight at the Academy! I'm still working on my knighthood..." He whispered the last part bashfully.

"Aw, don't worry about it, Fledge. You'll be a Knight in no time! And, I'm sure the uniform would really suit you!" He blushed a deep red at her words. She noticed this and gave him a look of adoration.

"Hey, Fledge?" He looked up at her.

"Yeah?"

"Do you maybe, wanna go flying with me? We can fly around the Goddess Statue and maybe even—"

"But you've got to catch up with Groose and go with the others! I'm not worth giving that up!" Fledge became flustered at how Y/N would give up her chance to fly with her friends, for him.

"Of course you are!" She exclaimed happily, "Come on, let's go!" She kissed his cheek and grabbed his hand, pulling him off towards the Goddess Statue.

The sun had begun to set. The sky was painted with shades of orange, fading into pink. The clouds were scattered in an odd formation, but that's what made it more special.

"Thank you for hanging out with me today, Y/N. Especially on your day of graduating." Fledge and Y/N rode their Loftwings side by side. She looked at him with a caring smile.

"Don't worry about it, Fledge. I'd rather hang out with you than Groose. He's kinda getting on my nerves, especially since I beat him in the race today."

"C-can I tell you something?" Fledge had found a small spot of courage in him. He decided to use it.

"Of course, you can tell me anything."

"U-uhm. Let's go to the Goddess Statue first. It's getting too dangerous to be flying around now." Y/N nodded and lead the way to the Goddess Statue. They both landed on the hands of the statue.

Fledge breathed in deeply and then exhaled.

"Y/N," He grabbed both of her hands, "I've liked you...f-for a while now...and I was...I was...wondering—" He was cut off by Y/N's lips connecting with his own. Their hands were still intertwined; there they stood, atop the Goddess Statue, with the beautiful sunset in the background and both their Loftwings flying above them.

It was perfect.
