(The other Tony starks daughter book i mentioned before has its first chapter published for any of those who would like to check it out:)

It had been quite a while since the nemesis felt like a normal person. Walking in the streets like a regular citizen.

After the death of Pierce, the organization fell apart, well sort of, Hydra has too many tentacles controlling the game. His death wasn't particularly shocking to the others, expected honestly.  He tried a little too much and it bit him in the ass.

After her little reunion with Iron man, it wasn't safe to go back to the bases, so she went undercover.

Bags of groceries in hand, keys in the other as she entered the large building and heading for the elevator. She may be a "criminal" but she enjoyed luxurious things. So staying in an expensive hotel was her first choice.

Sin city, gambling, alcohol, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.

Placing the bags on the marble table, she stretched her body enjoying the relaxation of such a beautiful view.

"Never gets old" she hummed out, resting her arms in the large balcony. Her eyes focused on the sight, her enhancements made the experience better, her eyesight and hearing catching every single noise and movement. It sounds annoying but it was perfect for her, damn helpful too in missions

Missions

She hummed in thought as she pulled out her phone, a message from an unknown number

Barnes

She clicked her tongue as she read the single question

"Did you go back?"

Her nails tapped on the back of her phone as she considered her next move

Ignore or help the poor guy out

'Hes probably walking around like a lost puppy'
she thought

She turned and looked around the room, she had more than enough space for a roommate, and the guy could really use a vacation right now

Placing the phone in her ear, getting an answer on the 3rd ring

"Hello" answered a familiar gruff voice

She shifted her body back to the city below her

"What do you think of Vegas?"

The sun shine brightly through the blinds of the hospital room, where Sam Wilson patiently sat waiting on his friend to wake up

Steven Grant Rogers, Captain America, the only super soldier

Or was

His blue eyes opened and scanned the room, seeing his friend by his side focused on a magazine

He swallowed softly

"On your left"

Wilson lifted his head, a smile creeped on his face at seeing him awake

Steve swallowed, feeling his throat dry
"Here man" Wilson said as he poured him a cup of water, gently helping him drink

Steve finished the cup and sighed in relief

"You okay?" Sam asked gently as he shifted his chair to face him

Steve looked around the room again

"Is everyone ok? He asked

Sam pursed his lips

"Dont worry, Stark evacuated everyone in time"

Steve frowned in confusion

"Stark?"

Sam sighed, interlacing his fingers

"Apparently you aren't the only one who is involved...with him....them" he trailed off, voice sharp

Steve swallowed...him....Bucky

"He didn't even know me" he said softly after the silence

"Hes not who he used to be Steve, what Hydra did....it turned him into someone else" sam explained

Steve looked away, jaw clenched at the thought

"You're gonna find him aren't you?" Sam asked, his eyes studying him closely

Steve didn't answer, he didn't need to, Sam already had his answer

And he would, he would find him, and them, whoever he was speaking to at the river.

He just hoped he was okay
