10. She Never Did

The brown haired woman layed on the bed starting at the ceiling with a blank look on her face. The soldier sleeping next to her, face buried on the crook of her neck as she played softly with his soft hair. Soft footsteps came from the end of the hall immediately making her stop. She held her breath as the footsteps stopped in front of her cell the sound of the lock being turned followed

She softly pushed the soldier away making sure he remained asleep as she moved to a sitting position just as the door opened. Three guards waltzed in guns in hand their fingers on the trigger as they pointed them to her.

""босс хочет тебя видеть" (boss wants to see you) one said as he motioned towards the door. She looked down at the man on the bed who was now stirring in his sleep from the noise. She placed the palm of her hand on his forehead which made him relax and fall into a deep sleep. With that she made her way out of the cell, she gave one last glance at the sleeping figure and then the door was shut.

"Ah Nemesis, what a pleasure of you to join us" The Man greeted joyfully as the woman came into view. He waved his hand in dismissal towards the guards who shut the door behind them leaving them alone

"Drink?" He asked motioning her towards the black chair in front of him as he sat down. She sat never breaking eye contact yet ignored his question

"I'll take that as a yes" he said as filled an extra glass with scotch

She watched him carefully as he set the drink in front of her, he sat down gracefully on his own chair his eyes scanning her face. He did that for a few more minutes before he broke the silence

"Yes, I can see why the soldier has taken a liking towards you" he muttered as he licked his dry lips

She turned her head slightly yet the blank expression on her face remained

"Winter has an upcoming mission this upcoming week, the mission he was trained for" he said firmly

She remained silent yet she knew what he was referring to, Captain America

"He's been very distracted lately...we can't afford that anymore, we need him sharp, that's why we're relocating you to a different facility" he said his eyes scanning for a reaction of any kind yet he received nothing

"Very well, I see there's no objections, you'll be leaving in an hour" he stated as he stood up, her doing the same as she made her way out the room

"In case of an emergency, and just in that case, you'll be brought in" he said firmly as her hand reached the door handle

She turned and gave him a big smile

"As you wish, your majesty" she said bowing teasingly making his jaw clench as she disappeared out the door. He picked her glass and drank it on one go

Later in the morning the Winter Soldier walked into the training headquarters. The room became quiet when the soldier came into view, the newbies cowardly moved out of his way as he approached the second in command

"Where is she?" He whispered as he glanced around the room searching for her

He chuckled softly as he stared at the soldier

"You didn't hear?" He asked teasingly

The soldier clenched his jaw

"Hear what?" He asked firmly

"She was relocated this morning, she's gone" he said simply

The soldier's face fell slightly but quickly turned back into it's blank expression but the man saw it

"Why, has the little soldier developed a soft spot for the Nemesis?" He teased as the soldier avoided his gaze but his smile quickly changed. "Now go train for your upcoming mission soldier, unless you want to forget your little love" he said harshly as he walked past him

The soldier stared at the ground then proceeded to train, every now and then he would stare at the door, hoping she would walk in, but she never did.
