08. She won't

"I've actually never spoke to anyone about this before" Tony said as he gulped on his drink

"Tony... we've been talking about your obsession with Shawarma for the past two hours" Bruce groaned as he rubbed his temples

He had other things to do than listen to his friend and his nonsense

Tony giggled

"Come on Brucie, you know you love listening to my ranting" he said still giggling

Bruce groaned, it was past one in the morning and his friend wouldn't let him go

"Okay fine, what else is on your mind" he said sighing in defeat

All though he didn't show it much, he knew his friend needed someone to listen, although most of it didn't make sense, he was willing to listen

Tony stopped giggling, his face had a small pink tint, he was wasted. He remained silent, his jaw clenched in thought. His eyes eyes were red from the amount of tears he had shed, they burned with pain

"I miss her" he blurted

Bruce raised an eyebrow

"Who?" He asked unsure

Tony laughed dryly as he wiped his eyes harshly

"I miss her laugh, I miss her voice" he said a tear slipping from his eye, shocking the tired doctor

"Pepper?" He asked sofly

Tony scoffed

"It was all my fault" he said dryly

Bruce was beyond confused, he knew Pepper and him are taking a  small break, bit he didn't think it was this intense

"Wait, I thought she wanted to focus on her work...?" He said tilting his head to the side

Tony drank the rest of his drink in a gulp

"If I'd had been there for her...she would still be here" he said tears slipping from his eyes yet his face was blank

Bruce didn't know what to say

"I-uh.. Tony..I'm sure she'll come back, everything will be fine, trust me" He said sofly, he was talking about Pepper

Tony scoffed and wiped his tears before standing up

"No Bruce....she won't"

She smirked, then the building erupted into flames as the winter soldier appeared by her side
