Adventureland, released in 2009, is the epitome movie portrayal of the purity of love between friends, lovers, and the nostalgic existence of youth. I watched this movie because my friends were high and wanted something they could laugh with. There was a lightness in the air. This movie carries the lightness. There is a gentleness ever-present within the characters. The writers are kind. Allowing the layers to be stripped back and every hue to show. I want to be painted in colours like that. There is decision in every motion. Every blink, sigh, and touch is thoughtful. This movie is a love letter to life, in a way that is more poetic and beautiful than I can describe. In essence: it is perfection.
