"Lloyd and Francis, you'll be partners for this project," the art teacher told them and started explaining to the class what she wanted for the project.

"Each two will have to draw a piece together on canvas using only three acrylic colors. Draw whatever you want, you have until the end of the lesson, now start working!"

Francis picked up a canvas from the back of the class along with an easel (a canvas stand) and Lloyd went to bring the colors.

When Lloyd brought the colors and the tools to where Francis was setting up the canvas, Francis asked "Green, yellow, and blue? Really?"

"Why not?" Lloyd asked and set the tools on the table next to them.

"I could've thought of a better combination."

"Oh, yeah? Like what?" Lloyd was already pouring the colors onto the palette.

"Ummm...Red, blue, and yellow?"

"You only took out the green."

"I don't like green." He added after noticing the color Lloyd wore, "No offense to you though."

Offense was already taken. However, Lloyd didn't respond and just asked "Do you have an idea of what we should draw?"

Francis looked around at the other students, most of them were drawing landscapes, and some of the rest were drawing portraits of each other. He paused while looking at a canvas hanging on the wall opposite from them. The painting was titled 'Potato Lisa' and had the name of the artist.

"Nice," Francis said.

Lloyd followed Francis' gaze to the painting. "A student painted it a week ago, I'm surprised they hung it up after the artist got made fun of."

"Wait, really?" Lloyd nodded. "Why? It's a masterpiece."

"Probably because the potato part was unintentional." Lloyd looked at their empty canvas. "Now, what do we draw? I can only doodle some candy and that's it."

"Don't ask me, I'm not a painter."

"I saw you draw in biology class."

"I was bored, and it wasn't that good. I can't even draw a simple butterfly."

Lloyd got a brush and handed another to Francis "Well, we have to draw something. We're running out of time and the others are already ahead of us."

Francis stared at the brush in his hand. "Fine. Let's draw something you're good at."

"Candy it is, then."

They kind of failed art class. Their painting was good but they didn't have enough time to finish it, so they got half the mark.

At the time for club activities, Lloyd got something to eat and sat in the cafeteria. Only a few kids were there, those who didn't join any clubs. He sat alone, waiting for his friends.

He still didn't tell them about the date, he was too busy complaining about English class which he also took with Francis who wrote his assignment as soon as he heard they had one when the teacher was collecting the late ones, which were almost everyone.

Francis wasn't even required to do the assignment since he was new, but he finished it in half an hour while the teacher was writing on the board, and he got a full mark for it.

Lloyd, on the other hand, was busy thinking about Y/n who didn't attend the class, and he couldn't hear the teacher asking him a question. He got scolded for it, again.

So there he was, sitting alone in the cafeteria, eating and typing on his phone.

Lloyd:
"Hey, Y/n. You're not in school, is everything okay?"

She replied almost immediately.

Y/n:
"Oh, hey...I got a cold. Do you need something?"

Lloyd:
"No, I was just wondering why you weren't in class. I hope you get better soon."

Y/n:
"Thank you, I won't go to school tomorrow either. Can you send me our homework for our shared classes? Whenever you can. I'll get the biology from Kai and the math from Nya later."

Lloyd:
"Sure. You're not missing much though."

Y/n:
"Good."

Lloyd:
"I'm waiting for the others and will go home after a bit. Sorry I can't visit you."

Y/n:
"It's okay, don't worry. I'll see you on Friday. Bye."

Lloyd:
"Bye."

Lloyd hoped she was okay and returned his attention to his food while listening to music.

Lloyd finished his food by the time his friends came into the cafeteria and sat with him.

Cole asked "So, what's the thing you wanted to tell us?"

"Not even a 'hi' or 'hello' first?" Lloyd put his phone on the table and took out his earphones.

"Yeah, now tell us."

Lloyd had to say it, or else they'll find out some way else and probably stalk him on his date. He wished for a calm reaction when he said "I asked Y/n out on a date, and she said yes."

None of them said anything except for Jay. "What?"

Zane said "Repeat what you said."

Lloyd did as Zane asked, "I'm going on a date with Y/n on Friday." He looked at his friends' confused faces. "What? Why are you all silent?"

It turned out, he didn't want the calm reaction anymore.

Nya was the one who broke the silence first, "You're serious, right?" Lloyd nodded. "That's what you wanted to tell us?" Lloyd nodded again. "You never went on a date, so I surely didn't expect that."

Kai said, "Don't get us wrong, we're happy for you."

"Thanks." Lloyd said, "I need advice though."

Everyone looked at Kai immediately, who asked, "Why are you all looking at me?"

Jay replied, "You're the only one who went on a date before."

"But it didn't work out."

Nya added "But I remember you coming home with a bright smile."

"That was an awkward smile..."

Zane joined in, "It can be useful, tell us about your experience so Lloyd can avoid your mistakes."

"...Thanks, Zane." Kai started telling them about his awful date that was two months ago, just so Lloyd wouldn't repeat his mistakes.

Lloyd asked "So now that I know what I shouldn't do, what should I do?"

Kai told Lloyd "Be confident."

Cole added "Play some music."

Zane said "Make sure you show off your intelligence."

Jay said "Don't stutter...stuttering makes people bored." He glanced at Nya.

Nya told them "Guys guys, stop." She turned to Lloyd "Just be yourself. She agreed on going on a date with you because you were yourself and not somebody else. So be yourself, and don't worry."

Lloyd said, "Thanks, Nya." And he could've sworn he saw Jay smile at Nya. He knew he liked her, but didn't know how to tell him that he knew.

Lloyd's phone started ringing. "It's my mom, I have to go home early today."

He said goodbye to his friends and left the school, heading home.

He hoped Y/n was getting better, or else he'd set the date in her apartment if they couldn't go out. But he hoped they could, because he had a place in mind where he wanted to go with her.
