I am a man with my head in my hands
On a sidewalk, a street corner
People rush around me
All going from nowhere new to nowhere old
Pushing forward while the world pushes them back
Frozen in time I am sitting
Watching the tether between you and your future
It gets shorter and shorter as you run further and further
The morning sun touches the rain soaked roads and they shine like a dream
A glowing haze touches the people around me
They light up in the reflection from the sky
Their future coming closer and closer
As they push harder and harder
Yet I am still on the corner with my head in my hands
Dreaming in the morning dew that surrounds us
