Laying with her stomach down on the couch, Nami had a half-eaten sandwich in one hand and her phone in the other. She was smiling to herself through slow chews, rereading the text message she had just received from an unknown number.

When did you slip your number into my pocket, princess?

The answer was simple: she didn't.

After their little encounter in the library, Jaemin had asked for her phone number since they'd be seeing a lot of each other from now on, but she told him that she would give him her number when she wanted him to have it.

She spent two weeks leaving Jaemin on edge, knowing that he wouldn't be pissed off or give up, considering that it was all part of the game anyway. She even avoided visiting the library just in case he thought he'd find her there. Once she decided two weeks were enough, she'd passed a note with her phone number and initials to Donghyuck, who drove her up the wall with questions as he had zero idea about how the two even knew each other, much less what they were doing.

It seemed that Donghyuck kept his promise of giving Jaemin the note without him knowing. Nami made a mental note to gift him for his assistance later.

"What are you smiling at?"

Her sandwich was stolen from her hand without prior warning and she watched with a frown as one of her roommates, Somi, took a big bite out of it. Somi fell into the armchair next to the couch and waited for Nami to answer.

"Just a guy I'm texting," Nami replied simply as she grabbed her sandwich back. It wasn't that she was usually a secretive person—she just wanted to build up the suspense and curiosity on Somi's part. She planned on waiting until her odd relationship with Jaemin hit a dramatic milestone before dropping the bomb on her roommates.

"What guy?" Somi asked after swallowing the food she'd stolen. "It has been a while since you dated anyone, though. Probably your longest dry spell yet."

"Dry spell? I never said I wasn't seeing anyone. I'm making this one wait," Nami grinned, finishing her sandwich before Somi could steal another bite.

Somi raised her eyebrows in surprise. "That's rare. You don't make men wait, that's your charm. What's so different about this dude?"

It was true that Nami didn't make men wait. She'd say yes to any guy that asked her out and that was what got most ill-hearted students to dub her as an easy whore who couldn't be independent even if it killed her. She didn't bother changing people's perceptions of her; they didn't bother to know the reason behind her "desperation" and they had no idea she was far more independent than they'd think.

They didn't have to know. Those people who only dared talk behind her weren't of any worth to care about in the first place.

"He's a lot like me," Nami's lips formed a smile as she looked at Jaemin's text. "That's what makes him different."

Somi scoffed. "Good. Then maybe he'll be the chosen one to make the heartless Jo Nami fall in love. Speaking of, are you going to the hospital this week?"

Nami's smile dropped upon hearing the reminder. She gave Somi a pained look, one that only Somi and her other roommates as her closest friends would understand.

"Of course I have to go," Nami smiled again, but this time it wasn't one that quite reached her eyes.

"It's my curse, remember?"

"Only you would say that while smiling," Somi muttered.

Nami tossed the remains of her sandwich at Somi, excusing herself to her bedroom for personal reasons.
Personal reasons being a single person that she couldn't wait to utilize texting culture for.

She threw her back on her single bed, dark hair fanned out above her head. She typed out a flirty response and unhesitatingly pressed "send". She longed for the day that someone would give her butterflies and make her nervous whenever she had to text him, but for now, she had to settle for those whose impressions of her she could care less about.

Jaemin's reply came in quicker than expected and they flirted with each other back and forth for quite a while. At the moment, there seemed to be a push-and-pull type of dynamic between the two of them; probably, it would've exhausted anybody else in the infamous talking stage, but for Jaemin and Nami it was more than enthralling.

There was a popular saying about how nothing good happened after 2 a.m..
But minutes after the clock struck two, something good did happen. For Jaemin, at least, who didn't respond for some time after receiving a mirror selfie of Nami in a kneeling position, cunning smile on her pretty bare face.

I bet you can't wait to have me on your knees for you. But while you wait, you can have this picture xo

The one thing that Jaemin did reply after continuous typing... indications that kept disappearing was "Are you sure you want to do this right now?". When all Nami answered was an emoji with its tongue sticking out, she received the same gift. A mirror selfie, too, of Jaemin leaning against his bed with his shirt unbuttoned, just hinting of his toned chest, and his expression wasn't friendly. Nami believed there was something wrong with her from how the more intimidating he seemed, the sexier she found him.

Unable to help herself, she observed his beautiful face and his sculpted upper body. She'd heard from Donghyuck's endless oversharing sessions that his best friend hated sports but was a gym junkie; she admired how fruitful those workout sessions must had been for him. Blushing when she finally realized what she was doing, she giggled to herself.

She may not be innocent, but she'd never gone a foot near sexting or anything of the sort. Any guy who attempted to do so with her would immediately come off as icky. Yet Na Jaemin had her on the verge of kissing her phone screen, it seemed that she found him more attractive than she'd like.

Good night, princess :) Let me know when you'd wanna go out to dinner with me.

Nami was astonished to see that he'd caught up on her attitude and asked her for her convenience to be with him. She realized then how he could easily sweep girls off their feet: he was smart. He was handsome, rich, book smart, but the biggest determining factor was that he was devastatingly good at this game.
