CHAPTER 33

LISA'S POV

"Come on pipsqueak you have two eyes now, so pick up the pace and finish up the last two laps up and down the fence line!" Teddy yelled. His attitude sure changed in a week. "One lap left to go and if I'm in a good mood I might just let you take a break!"

Is this even what you do in physical therapy?

I slowly came to a stop once I neared the finish line then made my way to the bench to rest and get a drink of water

Teddy came walking towards me, standing in front of me. "I never said you could take a break," he said raising a brow and crossing his arms

"Well, I did now leave me alone" I spat out while drinking my water. He just smiled and took a deep breath and sat down next to me

We sat there not saying a word, but every few seconds I could feel him staring at me. He must be some creep. So I scooted a few inches away from him

"Hot day out here isn't it?" He asked, looking at the sky, blocking the sun with his hand

"I guess" I shrugged

He then snapped his neck looking at me. "So what's your deal?"

"What? Why are you being so nosy?" I asked

He raised his hands. "No need to get defensive. I was just wondering since you and I will be spending another two weeks together, why not get to know each other a little more?"

I stared at him with a blank face then looked back straight ahead of me, watching the girls suffer as the coach was yelling at them to run faster. Sucks to be them

I continued to watch Chaeyoung running ahead of the other girls smiling and laughing making the coach even angrier. The scene of that made me smile

"That's the first time I've seen you smile," Teddy said grinning at me

I dropped my smile and turned my head again. "Stop looking at me pervert" I spat

I turned my attention back to the runners again, mainly on Chaeyoung, who saw me staring and waved. I lifted my hand to begin to wave back, but decided not to since my body is still tired

She continued smiling away as she was finishing her last lap, but locks of gray hair slowly began to pass her making her mad as she picked up her pace. It was Jennie

My attention now was immediately on her whether I liked it or not. And I didn't. Not sure why my mind was so focused on her. I studied her watching as her legs took long and firm strides around the track, while her arms were quickly pumping back and forth by her side. Her sweat is barely visible on her face and clothes. It seems like nothing to her. She continued her steady pace, grinning from ear to ear happy she passed Chaeyoung. That's one thing I find strange about her, I've never seen her not smiling. It just makes her more interesting to me for some reason

They were now neck and neck again only feet away from the finish line

Do they ever not race against each other, it's getting annoying now?

"I bet you this time that girl, Chaeyoung, is gonna win" Teddy spoke up, watching the girls too. "Who are you gonna cheer for?"

Those words

Not care who won. I looked back at him trying to ask a question, but the bell rang. Oh well

I got up and walked to the locker room to change. "See you tomorrow, Lisa!" Teddy shouted

I got to the locker room before all the other girls since they were stuck listening to the coach talk. I took that time to change so no roaming eyes could stare at me

Especially Jennie's

I took off my clothes, standing there in nothing but my underwear. But I heard the door open and girls walking in talking. So much for being alone. I began putting on my jeans one foot at a time, but a girl bumped into me making me fall to the ground

"Oh my gosh, Sadie! You let the deformed weirdo touch you!" A girl said making all the other girls around laugh. "Eww now you have to burn your arm or you'll be a walking zombie like her," she said making fun of me

They're so irritating

"Lisa, what happened?!" A worried voice asked me. I slowly sat up as I watched Jennie kneel by my side

"Do you care about this...thing?" The girl asked looking at Jennie like she was crazy. I looked at Jennie too and noticed something in her eyes

She stood up and turned to face the girl. "Her name is Lisa and yes I do care about her, now apologize for pushing her down and making fun of her," she said in a threatening tone, looking down at the girl since she was short

The girl muffled a laugh. "First of all, I didn't knock her to the ground. And second of all, I'm not taking back what I said to her"

"Do it now" Jennie warned

The girl walked closer to her. "Or what?" She challenged. Jennie then turned around and began walking away

The girl laughed. "That's what I thou-"

But in seconds Jennie turned around and knocked the girl out cold to the ground. She then looked at the other girl, Sadie, who looked at her and immediately apologized

"Sorry Lisa" she apologize then quickly ran into the shower

"I'm not going to say this again! If anyone lays a finger or even looks at Lisa funny, will be dealing with me! Got it?!" All the girls nodded their heads and scurried away like rats

Jennie then turned to me smiling, lifting me up and gently placing me on the bench. "Are you okay?" She asked in a soft tone completely different from the other one

I ignored her question by asking one of my own. "Why do you still care so much about me if I can't even remember you?"

Jennie smiled. "It's because I love you" she stood there staring at me in the eyes grinning and slowly began leaning towards me as I sat there like a statue not moving

This pervert is trying to kiss me

"Hey what was all the fuss about?" Chaeyoung asked while coming out of the shower and drying off her hair with a towel

Jennie moved away quickly. "Just some idiots picking on, Lisa"

Chaeyoung's eyes widened as she quickly made her way by my side. "Are you okay?" She asked worriedly

"She's fine, but don't worry I handled it for you," Jennie said, rolling her eyes

Chaeyoung looked at Jennie and smiled. "Thanks" she then turned her attention back towards me and pecked me on the cheek. "I'm glad you're okay" she smirked

I smiled then glanced back at Jennie who began walking away, then without thinking I said. "Thanks for helping me, but you're still annoying, Jennie"

Where did that come from?

Jennie turned and smiled at me. "You're so mean, Lisayah" she then turned around and skipped off to her locker

"What was all that about?" Chaeyoung asked

I looked at Chaeyoung and smiled. "Turn around so I can change"

She kissed me on the cheek and then smirked. "Ay ay captain" she then got up and turned around
