My panic rose even more as F/N stood up "Is there someone else here, Y/N..?" They looked to me with a worried and scared expression, their sudden attitude making my panic turn to joy. I shook my head "It was probably just a racoon, relax." I gave them a reassuring smile and they sat back down with a sigh "You're probably right" They smiled at me and I realized I'd have to respond in some way to their confession

Unfortunately I didn't feel the same way, I didn't even know if I could feel love. "Listen F/N, you're an amazing friend and I enjoy your company but.. I don't feel the same way, I'm not even sure if I can feel love. I'm sorry." I gave them an apologetic smile and they hung their head "Yeah, right, I forgot" They laughed nervously

They stood up "I'm gonna head home, I'll see you tomorrow." They walked away before I could say anything. I sighed and stood up walking to the kitchen to see Jeff sitting on the counter with his arms crossed, I couldn't help but snort when I saw him. I stood about a foot away from him and crossed my arms "What's up with you?" He looked away from me and refused to speak to me

I was so focused on him that I didn't hear F/N reenter and walk to the kitchen, they stopped immediately and stared straight at Jeff with a terrified expression on their face. Jeff noticed them and jumped down from the counter, I was confused until I turned around to see them shaking. "Y/N- wh-who-" They could barely manage to speak and started stepping backwards

I rushed to them and dragged them into the living room "You were supposed to have left!" I was both angry and worried, but not for them. They backed up into the back of the couch and hugged themselves "I-I for-forgot my b-bag..." They were a complete mess, stuttering and shaking intensely

I sighed and got closer to them "You should just forget what you saw." They backed away from me in fear "Wh-who is he..? Why-" They stopped as soon as they looked at me "I told you to forget what you saw, if you don't, there'll be consequences.." I stood in front of them glaring down at them, they quickly nodded and left

I sighed and turned around to see Jeff with an amused smile, I groaned and went to the couch plopping down on it. All I wanted to do was fall asleep and have this day be over with now. Jeff sat down on the arm of the couch and looked down at me "So, why'd you threaten them? Aren't they your friend?" I replied with a shrug "And?" I didn't understand why I threatened them, in the moment I just felt like I needed to make them understand that I needed them to be quiet about Jeff, I didn't understand that either, actually I didn't understand anything currently

Everything was just so confusing and I just wanted to sleep. I layed down and curled up, I felt Jeff get up and I closed my eyes, sleep slowly took over

I woke up to Jeff shaking me, I groaned and opened my eyes slowly. "We gotta go, your friend didn't keep quiet." And with that I was suddenly wide awake, I stood up quickly "What are we supposed to do?" Panic slowly started rise within me and my breathing became quick. Jeff grabbed me by the arm and took me out the back door "I- may have somewhere-" He seemed hesitant and his expression seemed a bit troubled

"If you're sure it's the best option, honestly anywhere is better than here now..." I didn't want to go, after all I'd grown up here, but I didn't exactly have a choice right now. Jeff helped me over the fence and we both made our way into the forest. "So.. Is this place where you go when you leave-?" I was genuinely curious but kind of regretted asking, he tensed up a bit before responding "Yeah- it's sort of like my home-" He still seemed troubled and extremely anxious, it started to worry me

I tugged on his hoodie sleeve causing him to look at me, "Is there something I should be worried about..?" It took him a minute respond "No-" I could just tell he was lying but I didn't dare push. We just continued on our way through the forest, my feet had started hurting since I didn't have time to put shoes on before we left, each branch was sharp against my bare feet, of course it didn't hurt though. I stepped on an extremely sharp rock and let out a yelp as I felt it pierce my skin causing Jeff to stop and look back at me

He sighed and crouched down, his back facing me, I gave him a confused look and he just groaned "Just fucking get on before I change my mind damnit!" I jumped slightly before wrapping my arms around his neck and my legs around his waist, he stood up and went back to walking

I had absolutely no clue where we were going and I honestly didn't want to know so I just kept quiet and rested my chin on his shoulder. I was almost positive my foot was bleeding from the rock but decided to ignore it, I'd bother him about it later

He decided we were far enough away for now and set me down beneath a tree, he crouched down in front of me and sighed. I decided now was probably the best time to bring up my foot "Hey um- I think my foot might be bleeding-" Jeff groaned "Ya couldn't have brought it up sooner?" I hung my head "I didn't wanna bother you-"

He gave me a look of "You're kidding right?" Mixed with "What the fuck did you just say?" It kinda made me giggle which only confused him more. "Sorry, you had a funny look on your face" He gave me an unamused look before sighing and looking at my foot "Yeah it's bleeding, unfortunately I don't have anything to bandage it with so it's gonna have to wait. You just need to stay off of it" I nodded and he sat down beside me "We need to rest, we need to get back on our feet as soon as possible." I nodded and we decided to stay in that spot to rest until sunrise
