Me and Jeff had woken up a few minutes ago and were now just sitting together. It had been silent the entire time, I was just waiting to ask him questions and he was waiting for me to ask. I sighed and looked up at him, I asked the first question that came to mind "We used to know each other.. Didn't we?" His response was a simple yet slow nod

"What happened..?" I tilted my head, I already knew the answer, I just wanted to hear it from him. He explained to me the incident with the bullies and then what he did to himself and his family, the entire time he seemed stressed and his fists were clenched. I just leaned against him resting my head on his shoulder, I yawned and rubbed my eyes

Jeff wrapped his arm around my waist and kissed the top of my head. He layed down pulling me onto him, a soft giggle left my lips and I rested my head on his chest. I was still tired so I closed my eyes, Jeff wrapped his other arm around me with a sigh

I didn't know how long I'd been asleep for but it was dark again. Jeff was still asleep so I kissed his cheek and carefully got out of bed trying not to wake him, I stretched with a yawn and went to stand up until I heard him groan. I looked over at him to see him still asleep, I sat back down next to him and noticed he was shaking a bit

I thought for a second before poking his shoulder, he rolled over only to curl up a bit, his breathing was shaky and heavy and he was sweating a bit. I realized he was having a bad dream and I rested my hand on his shoulder, it didn't help at all. I shook him a bit and he finally woke up, I pulled him into a hug and he wrapped his arms around me very tightly

He was still shaking slightly as he kept a tight hold on me, "What's wrong?" I pulled away slowly and looked down at him, he shook his head "Just a bad dream..." He sat up with a sigh, I stayed close to him and tilted my head "What happened?" He looked down and sighed again

"Just past shit, that's all." He looked at me and rested his hand on my head, I shook my head "Talk to me." He sighed in defeat and looked away removing his hand from my head "Fire.. Lots of fire... Everywhere.." He shook his head at the thought, he ran his hand through his long, messy black hair with yet another sigh

He continued speaking "I couldn't escape no matter how hard I tried.. And no matter how far I ran I seemingly stayed in place..." He started shaking again, I cupped his cheeks with my hands and smiled at him "Hey, it was just a bad dream, ok?" He smiled back and poked my nose "Thanks, space cadet." I giggled softly at the nickname now realizing it was going to stick

He grinned mischievously making me raise an eyebrow at him. Suddenly he pulled me into a hug and held me tightly against his chest with a content sigh making me groan quietly. He runs his hand through my hair and chuckles, sometimes he acted so childish I couldn't help but laugh and sometimes he was so serious it was genuinely terrifying. Jeff was an interesting individual and always had been, he was always so serious when we were younger, he was the only person who ever really scared me and I think he knew it, a part of me knew he wouldn't hurt me but that didn't stop me from fearing him

Though his more goofy, childish side was way more fun, though that was the side I'd only seen once we met after the incident with my parents. He was fun to be around and easy to talk to, not to mention I knew I was safe with him. I looked up at him to see his eyes were glazed over which meant he was asleep, I pressed my head against his chest again with a big smile

I didn't care what had happened in the past or what was going to happen in the future, all I cared about was being with him in this moment. I'd never felt this way before and it was a strange yet very nice feeling. I sighed quietly as I closed my eyes
