What is love?|| ℂ𝕙𝕒𝕡𝕥𝕖𝕣 𝟙𝟙

I was sitting in the living room watching TV with Eyeless, the past few days had been pretty chill and there wasn't really much to do. I'd watched the news the other day and found out the police were looking for me so I wasn't allowed outside yet. I didn't exactly mind, I had always preferred staying inside

Sally bounced into the living room with Toby close behind her and stopped in front of me "Y/N! Y/N! Come play with us!" Her smile was huge and she was beaming with excitement, it was impossible to say no. "Alright." I smiled down at her and she cheered, grabbing my hand and pulling me with her towards her room

We sat down together and had a tea party, of course it most definitely was not tea and tasted like poison, I would never tell her that though

-Jeff's POV-

I was walking past Sally's room when I heard Y/N's voice, the door was open a bit so I looked in and saw them playing with Sally and Toby. It was nice seeing them have fun, and it was especially nice hearing their laugh

I noticed they seemed to be happier here, which was strange. Maybe it's cuz they feel safer here? I shrugged and was about to keep walking when I hear Y/N call to me, they got up and walked to me "Hey!" They smiled up at me "Do you wanna hang out together?" I shrugged "Sure." They grabbed my hand and pulled me with them

-Y/N POV-

Me and Jeff were just hanging out in the kitchen, I was on the counter and he was in front of me. Mine and Clockwork's conversation from the other day crossed my mind. 'Is it really love I feel? Is that possible for me..? Would he feel the same?' I was snapped out of my thoughts by Jeff flicking my knee "Ow! Rude." I glared at him and he just laughed "What're you thinking about?" He stuffed his hands in his hoodie pockets, I didn't know if I should tell him because I wasn't sure myself

"Jeff, what is love?" I looked at up at him, it was a genuine question but it had more to it. He seemed a bit shocked by my question before laughing softly "Right, your emotions thing.. Well" He paused for a while looking down, it seemed he didn't really know the answer himself . He smiled a bit before continuing "I don't know, love can be many things." I nodded "What is it like? How-how would you know you're in love with someone..?" I tried to not make it obvious and most likely failed "Well, how do you feel around this person" Yep I failed

"Well- They make me feel safe, and whenever I'm with them I can't help but smile, I feel warm and fuzzy on the inside whenever I'm with them and I always feel like I need to keep them as close as possible..." I could feel my cheeks heating up, Jeff paused for a bit processing what I said "I don't know, sounds like your in love to me" He shrugged, that only complicated things more and the question that remained was, does he feel the same?

I forced a smile "Thank you" He tilted his head a bit "Somethings wrong" I hummed and he scoffed "I can tell when you force your smile" I sighed looking down "It's nothing, just- worried..." He nodded "I'm sure it'll be fine." He patted my head before walking away

He left me with my thoughts, now that I knew it was love it just made things extremely hard, how was I supposed to talk to him knowing this? How was I supposed to tell him? I started to panic, my cheeks felt like they were on fire. Clockwork walking in and stopped when she saw me "Ooooo, what happened?" She giggled and stood in front of me, I sighed "Nothing, just thinking"

She nodded "So have you figured out how you're gonna tell him?" I shook my head "No, and I'm scared to.." She sighed and sat on the counter beside me "I swear, are you oblivious or something?" I looked at her with a confused expression, she sighed again shaking her head "Nevermind, just tell him soon before it's too late, ok?" I nodded

She wrapped me in a hug, I smiled and hugged her back "Thank you Clockwork, you're a good friend." She patted my back "I know I am" We both laughed. This moment brought back another memory

The boy from yesterday was talking to another boy, they seemed to be having fun because they were smiling. I decided to walk up to him and he looked at me "Oh hey!" His smile got wider, I never got his name and I was extremely curious "Um.. Wh-what's your name?" I looked down, I wasn't a shy kid I just didn't like talking to people

"Oh, my name's Liu, what's your name?" He tilted his head a bit with a curious grin "Y-Y/N..." His smile was so comforting and bright, he pointed to the boy beside him "This is my brother, Jeffery." Jeffery glared at Liu "I could've introduced myself" Liu shrugged

They seemed close, I was envious of that and their smiles. Because of my "condition" nobody ever wanted to be close with me and I could never really smile, Liu took my hand in his with a smile "Hey, do you wanna come hang out with us?" I was stunned, was he really asking me that? I nodded of course and he dragged me along with him and his brother

The memory got me thinking about a lot of things, especially about Liu and what happened. They had been our neighbors for years, all the way up until our teen years. My parents never told me what happened and I wasn't allowed to watch TV for about a week after they disappeared, I also was kept in my room and could only go down for dinner during that week

I shook my head and just focused on my conversation with Clockwork, it was no use worrying about it now after all these years
