Ozzie's POV

"Morning, boys," I groan as I walk into the bungalow's living room. Of course, all three boys are up since they get up early to surf.

"Morning."

"Good morning."

"Morning, Oz."

"You guys go surfing this morning?" I ask as I take a seat next to Luke. He puts his arm around my shoulder and I shrug it off. God.

"Nah, it was raining. It'll be a movie and popcorn kind of day," Jude tells me.

"Alright, well my parents are expecting me back sometime today." My parents have... mixed feelings about my chosen friend group. They love how protective the boys are—I've known them since I was born, so we're very close—but they don't necessarily love that they're all guys. My Mom thinks I need more girlfriends, but I tell her I like my friends, and then the conversation is over.

"Carrie and Joey will be fine. It's summer; we're supposed to have fun! It's my last summer before college, guys," Dane says. "And I know y'all still have another year to go, but I wanna make the most of this summer."

"Morning," I hear a female voice mutter from behind me as I turn around to see Valerie Monroe.

"Morning," I say as cheerfully as possible.

"Um... I'll catch you guys later."

"Bye Val!" Luke calls out with a smirk on his face.

As soon as she shuts the door Dane, Jude, and I stare at him. "What?" he chokes out. "I saw her last night at the boardwalk, and then we—"

"Alright, that's plenty of info, thank you," I tell him as he puts his hands up in defeat.

Admittedly, all of my friends are players. During the school year, they hook up with a lot of girls, but during the summer it's much, much worse. In the summer there's not many nights at least one of the guys doesn't wake up next to a girl.

But the ultimate player out of the three is by far Luke. He rarely spends a night without hitting on a girl—even if he doesn't take them home.

That's just one of the reasons all of us stay at Dane's bungalow basically the entire summer. Usually, his parents are here, but since he's 18 they let him take it for the summer while they stay at their second home in California. So pretty much, this is where our friend group will hang out for the three months before school starts back up again.

In school, my group is known for having a bad track record with relationships. Dane and Jude have only ever had one girlfriend, and Luke hasn't had a single one. As for myself, I've had two boyfriends and a girlfriend, but none of them lasted very long.

"Give me a minute until we start the movie; I'm gonna take a shower real quick," I tell the boys before disappearing into the bathroom.

"Ozzie?" I hear from outside the door.

"What?" I yell back. Luke.

"I have to pee. Can I come in?"

"No. Hold it."

"Oz!" he whines.

"Go pee in the bushes, I don't care! But you're not coming in here when I'm naked."

"Naked, you say?" I can practically see his smirk from here.

"Shut up Luke," I growl. He's silent for a moment. "Fine. But make it quick."

"Thank you thank you," he says as I feel his presence in the bathroom with me. I quickly wash out my hair and scrub my face wash onto my face. Oh no oh no oh no.

"Luke?"

"What?"

"Grab my towel; there's face wash in my eyes."

"Oh um, alright." He hands me my towel above the shower rod and I wrap it around me before hopping out of the shower and run into Luke's chest.

"Hi," he whispers.

"Um, hi." I slowly open my eyes. "Can you just grab a washcloth and get the face wash out of my eye?" I ask.

"S-sure." He grabs a washcloth and quickly rinses it under cold water before rubbing it under my eye. He stares at me intently before I break the silence.

"Much better. Uh, thanks!"

And then I rush out of the bathroom. What the hell was that?
