pt 7) dancing in the rain

[Y/n's POV]

We started our way down the street to the diner down town.

Dwayne: so how is Michigan?

Y/n: Michigan is pretty good, it's a lot hotter here

Dwayne: you can say that again

Y/n: do you get much snow in Texas?

Dwayne: well not really, maybe once in a lie moon

Y/n: oh wow, we get lots of snow, and one time it started snowing in October, you'll have to come visit sometime

Dwayne: only if you come visit me

Y/n: that sounds like a plan

We laughed a bit as we entered the diner and got our orders taken.

Dwayne: you know, you have the most beautiful eyes I ever did see

Y/n: really thank you?

Dwayne: no problem

Y/n: I have a question

Dwayne: go for it

Y/n: do you have horses? Like do you ride horses?

Dwayne: of course, that's how we move cattle on my farm

Y/n: I figured, I have a horse up home, her name is Red. I go riding with her a lot up on my property

Dwayne: what breed If I shall as

Y/n: quarter, she's red if you couldn't tell by the name

Dwayne: oh well you should meet my girl daisy she's one of those brown quarter horses

Y/n: she sounds amazing

We sat there for a few moments in silence.

[Dwayne's POV]

This girl has been nothing but kind to me since I met her. She is one of the most beautiful girls I have ever seen and her personality is the best Ive ever seen. I really do like this girl.

[Y/n's POV]

Dwayne and I got our food and ate. We payed, got up and left. Right before we left the dorms I had put on a tank top because my jersey was to hot, but now I'm cold.

Dwayne: you ok?

Y/n: yeah just a little cold, but I'm fine

Dwayne takes off his jacket and places it on my shoulders.

Dwayne: there you go darlin, you should be cozy in that

I smiled and blushed.

Y/n: thank you Dwayne, for everything

Dwayne: no problem

We started to get closer to the building and it started to rain.

Y/n: we better hurry back, let's go!

I said with a smile while grabbing his hand and running towards the side walk infront of the dorm building.
We stopped infront of the build and look at eachother as we were all wet.

Dwayne: you know what my favorite thing to do in the rain is?

Y/n: what is that?

Dwayne: dance

Y/n: really?

He put a hand out to me.

Dwayne: Y/n Mendoza may I have this dance?

*I took his hand*

Y/n: it would be my pleasure

I said with a smile. He pulled me towards him and spinned me around. We both could not stop smiling. He held me close to him as he slow danced together as it rained. All we had for lights were the lights by the entrance of the building, but it gave us enough light to see eachother. I put my head on his chest as we swayed back and fourth in the rain. Dwayne is the most kind, loving person I have even met and I really do like him, he always has a way to make me smile or laugh.

Dwayne: we better get you inside before you catch a cold

Y/n: ok

We walked towards the entrance holding hands and right before we entered he put his black cowboy hat on my head and we looked  at eachother and smiled. We went back to our dorms  and faced eachother.

Y/n: thank you for tonight

Dwayne: of course, anytime, goodnight

Y/n: goodnight

We both turned around about to enter our rooms.

Y/n: Dwayne wait

Dwayne: what's up?

I walked up to him, stood on my tip toes and kisses him quick on the check and then ran into my dorm. Leaving him there blushing with the cutest/biggest smile ever.
