The Rough, Sadness, And The Light At The End Of The Tunnel

After Christmas yesterday i couldn't stop thinking about Chris's family. How they've welcomed me into their family so easily just a year ago. 

Last year me and Chris got together in late July. So after only being with Chris for a little over five months, the man that cares so damn much about family, was willing to welcome me to his family Christmas.

And now a year later i can walk into Lisa's house and they treat me like I've known Chris since i was a kid. Also, we're getting married. I get to marry the absolute perfect man for me. 

"Whatever this is, it smells amazing." Chris said coming up from behind me. He put his hands on my hips running his hands up and down, and lightly kissing my neck. "Good morning, my love. And it's just blueberry pancakes. Nothing too special." I told him and moved my head to kiss the side of his head. 

After the pancakes were made we sat down on the couch and Chris was setting up our show for us. As he was about to play it i grabbed the remote and set it on the coffee table. 

"What's up, Honey?" Chris turned to me. "Can we do something today?" I asked. "Whatever you want." He smiled. "I want us to post. About us getting engaged." I brought up. 

Chris didn't say anything besides launch himself at me. I fell onto my back, and Chris immediately had his lips on mine. After a few second Chris pulled away and just looked in my hazel eyes. 

"Of course i want to tell everyone we're getting married. Come on we'll do it right now." He got off me and ran upstairs and the dogs started running off him. I couldn't help but start laughing at him about bow excited he was. 

Not even a minute later Chris had both our phones in his hand and sat back down next to me. He handed me my phone and i looked over at him and he was already pulling up Instagram. 

I reached over, putting my hand on his cheek making him look at me. "I love you. And i can't wait to start this next chapter. Plus, the family I know will come soon." He chuckled at the last bit. "I love you too. I can't wait either. And i most definitely want you to be the mother of my children." I smiled at him and we shared a soft sweet kiss. 

We each got on our phone picking out our photos. We had took some pictures when we got to Boston. Since our actual engagement took place at one in the morning at the entrance of Chris's front entrance. Don't have those pictures. 

I ended up choosing these pictures from the shoot we did and some i just had. (Imagine Jordan's ring i showed earlier. Chris's outfit is nice jeans, dress shoes, and a white dress shirt. Jordan's is below.)

After choosing my pictures i got started on my caption. 

Well, mine and Chris's time has come. Me and Chris are very happy announce that we are engaged. It happened about a month ago, day after Thanksgiving. We waited on telling you guys because we just wanted to have this time with Chris's family for the holidays. But, me at least, i can't hold this in any longer. 

Over this past year and a half i have never been happier than with Chris. There have been rough patches but if you haven't had any in a relationship, you or your partner have to be holding something in. I couldn't be more grateful for Chris to have come into my life. 

So i think the one person me and Chris really have to thank is... Scarlett! We've known each other for years and it's really the only connection between me and Chris. So thank you Scarlett for setting up that barbecue that day. Because i doubt i would've met the love of life without that day or you. Love you girl. 

I love you Chris. More than you could ever know. Can't wait to see that the future holds for us. 

I posted the pictures and looked over at Chris. "You done?" He asked and i nodded. He leaned over and pressed a long, soft kiss to my lips. "I love you." He said. "I love you." I repeated.
