Threat

It was the end of our first year before I knew it, and still, Daddy's new rules has yet to change. It's been long since he first received the death threat, and until now, it's still going. Mas lumalala nga nitong nakaraang linggo dahil malapit nang matapos ang trial at mukang mananalo talaga sila Daddy.

Muli kong naalala ang package na dumating sa bahay na lingid sa kaalaman kong puno pala ng daga at dugo na napatunayan namang hindi galing sa tao.

It was traumatizing.

Lalong naghihigpit si Daddy at sakal na sakal na 'ko. Hindi naman ako pwedeng mag reklamo, kaya sinasarili ko na lang ang mga hinaing. Isa pa, ayaw ko rin namang mapahamak, maski sila Mommy.

"What's your plan this Sem break?" Carson asked.

I shrug. "Depends if Daddy will let me go anywhere. I highly doubt it, so I guess just home,"

"That's boring."

"As if I have a choice,"

Sumandal s'ya sa upuan at natatawa akong tiningnan. Napangiwi na lang ako.

"Want me to help you go out?"

"No thanks, Carson. Baka ipahamak mo pa ako,"

Humalakhak s'ya. "I won't! Besides, we also miss you being around. Lagi kang wala,"

I pursed my lips and let myself think of possible consequences if I'll take his offer. Malakas talaga s'ya kay Daddy, kahit itanggi ko pa iyon, pero ngayong naghihigpit s'ya, hindi kaya hindi gumana ang bait-baitan nitong si Carson?

Muli ko s'yang nilingon bago napairap.

"Saan ba?"

He laughed. "My friend's having a party tonight,"

Isang rinig pa lang sa party ay agad na akong umiling.

I really miss going to events and parties, but I don't think it's the right time to do that.

"Daddy won't allow me,"

"Kung aamin ka." He raised a brow. "Besides, if you don't want to stay there, you can come with me. I'll go with Kuya's motocross that night too,"

Hindi ako nakapagbigay ng sagot nang oras ding 'yon dahil nagdadalawang isip pa ako.

I ended up running for the student council as Vice President. Honestly, I just did it because I want to somehow fill the time I could've gone to socialize since I'll be so bored if I'll just stay at home often.

Few hours after that conversation with Carson and I just found myself inside his car, nearing to wherever his friend's house is. Well, he just proved Daddy really like him, and at this point I'll think Daddy loves him more than me. I was then retouching my make up when the wind blew harshly and something hit my eye.

"Shit!"

"What?"

"Napuing ako,"

"Let me see,"

I leaned to him as I felt his hand guide my face and look at my left eye. Ang sakit! I tried to open my eyes as he blew it. Thankful enough, natanggal naman iyon pero nanatili pa rin ang hapdi sa mga mata ko.

"Don't cry too much. They might think I'm hurting you," aniya, natatawa.

Pinukulan ko s'ya ng masamang tingin bago naunang lumabas sa sasakyan. Panandalian muna akong tumigil at tiningnan ang sarili sa sidecar mirror habang naririnig ko ang sunod-sunod na bati sa paglabas ni Carson.
