Chapter 24

March 15th 2026 The new Batcave
It had been exactly five years since the battle against Darkseid, the Earths resources were wearing thin and Darkseid was losing interest in the Earth so he decided to send massive drills down to the Earths surface to extract the core of the Earth to be used as energy.

"This is the fifth drill Damian, what are we going to do" Blue Beetle asked

"I don't know I still can't find a weakness" he replied

Their conversation was interrupted by Jon collapsing to the ground.

"Beloved are you okay" Damian rushed to his side

"Yeah just feeling a bit weak" Jon replied

"Damian your going to want to see this" Beast Boy shouted

Damian ran over to the monitor, Darkseid was blocking out the sun which would explain Jon feeling weak because he was losing access to the source of his powers.

"How do we destroy the drills now without a Superman" Raven questioned

"I have an idea but I need to go home" Damian said

"I'm going with you then" Jon said

"No you can't, Raven and Beast Boy your with me everyone else your looking after the Kents and refugees hiding in the lower levels, and Beloved I'll be back before you know it" Damian said

"You better be don't you dare die on me" Jon shouted

Damian, Raven and Garfield hopped in Damian's Batwing and left Mount Gotham, Wayne Manor had been abandoned and it was starting to look it, parts of the roof had caved and the only thought Damian had was that Alfred would've hated how it looked if he was still here but he had died two years prior of old age leaving Damian as the last member of the Batfamily.

"That's odd" Damian stated

"What" Raven asked

"The Batcave seems to be operational I shut it down" Damian answered

"So what your saying is there's an intruder and we've to be on high alert" Beast Boy said

"No, we go in screaming of course be on high alert" Damian barked

The three heroes got out of the Batwing and entered the Cave through an old entrance as they neared the main computer they could see a figure and as they got closer Damian recognised the person.

"Todd, of course you survived" Damian said running towards his last living brother

"Demon spawn you lived and your Batman now, it suits you" Jason said

"What are you doing here Red Hood" Raven asked

"I came back after the cave had shut down to bury Bruce, Dick and Tim there over there and Damian do you know where Alfred got to" Jason asked

"Sorry Todd, Alfred passed away in his sleep from old age two years ago, but he died remembering the good old days he told me a few stories about you and Dick, he was really upset at the fact you had all gone" Damian said

"But was he happy with us was he proud" Jason asked

"More then anything, would you like to visit him and join our Merry team" Damian asked

"Yeah I would, where are you guys hiding out anyway" Jason asked

"Mount Gotham, Father had just finished building a cave there before the fight" Damian stated

"I'll meet you there" Jason said headings for his bike

"And thanks Todd" Damian said

"Thanks for what" Jason answered confused
