Chapter 64

December 31st The Watchtower 23:00
There was an almost breakable tension in the air as they prepared for war but the heroes decided they would still try celebrate Mew Years eve together

"I would just like to congratulate everyone on making it this far, I would like to take a moment to remember the fallen and assure you no matter what happens tomorrow I'm proud to have fought alongside you all" Clark said

"Here,here" they all replied

"Why is your Dad so good at speech's" Cassie asked

"I don't know maybe something to with the whole hope thing" Jon said

"Makes sense, try not to be down in the dumps when the clock strikes twelve okay" Cassie said

"Okay I'll try" Jon said

As it approached midnight Jon snuck off to the observation deck he watched the countdown and as everyone else cheered and wished each other a happy new year he looked to the sky

"Happy New Year Dami" Jon said trying not to cry

He went back down to everyone else

"Where did you go to" Cassie asked

"Nowhere" Jon said

"Come here and give me a hug" Cassie said hugging him

"Happy Nee Year Cassie" Jon said

"Happy New Year bud" she replied

Earth-11 Kane Manor
Much like Jon, Damian had slipped away from the party downstairs and went to his balcony and stared at the moon as the clock struck twelve

"Happy Nee Year Jon, I'll be home tomorrow" Damian said starting to cry

Meanwhile downstairs everyone was celebrating

"Hey Talia I think Damian is crying upstairs" Laurel said

"Let's go check on him" Talia said

The two girls ran up the stairs and entered his room and saw him sitting on the balcony staring at the moon with tears in his eyes

"You poked yourself again didn't you" Talia said

"How did you know" Damian said

"It's okay to cry Damian, let it all out" Laurel said

"Thanks you guys, it's just I miss home" Damian said

"Home or your beloved" Talia said

"He is my home" Damian replied

"Aww that's so sweet" Laurel said

"Well good news the device should be ready by nine tomorrow morning and you'll be homeward bound" Talia said

Main Street Metropolis January 1st

It was seven in the morning and it was eerily quiet, no one was out the streets were desolate until aloud boom signified Darkseid's arrival

"Bow before your new Lord" Darkseid said

He then noticed no one was there

"Foolish heroes come out from your hiding place" Darkseid boomed

Clark and Kara flew straight at him from the front and Jon and Kon flew at him from behind, Darkseid knocked them all from the sky. Next large swarms of Parademons started flying out of boom tubes, the Legion of Doom was watching from a safe distance placing bets on who would die first.
