"Tutor Potter?" Blaise laughs as he loads his plate with scrambled eggs. "I think that's worse than getting expelled."

"Are you serious?" Daphne chimes in. "Y/n's lucky, if anything. I mean, getting to spend an hour alone in a classroom with a boy?" She wiggles her eyebrows at me, and I nearly throw up. "Who knows what will happen in there."

"Trust me," I say. "I'll die before anything happens between Harry Potter and I."

"Sure," Daphne mutters under her breath.

"Daphne." I say warningly. Daphne smiles feebly to herself as she finishes the last of her breakfast.

"When does the first lesson start?" Blaise asks me.

"Friday," I tell him. "Luckily, that's four days away, so I get to avoid him for a little while."

Daphne suddenly stands up. "Well, if we're going to lose our dear sweet Y/n, we need to spend an entire day together. Blow off all of our classes."

I look up. "Can we do that?" I ask in bewilderment.

"Probably not," Daphne says. "But we could just all pretend to be sick, and the teachers would let us take the day off."

"Yeah," Blaise mutters. "Three students, who happen to be best friends, coincidentally sick at the same time. Not suspicious at all."

"I can ask Dumbledore," I offer.

"Oh, so you're best friends with the Headmaster, now?" Blaise questions, eyebrow raised. I shoot him a glare.

"Of course not," I snap. "But I'm sure he'd understand."

"Okay," Blaise chuckles, "so let's say Dumbledore somehow agrees to give us the day off- what do we even do?"

"Hogsmeade, obviously." Daphne scoffs. "We order as many butterbeers as we can until we get super drunk-"

"Daphne," Blaise cuts her off. "Butterbeer doesn't even have alcohol in it."

Daphne frowns. "Fine. We'll just drink butterbeers and have a fun time at Hogsmeade, I guess."

"Guys," I say, my voice rising. "It's fine. You're all acting like I'm transferring schools or something. I'm just tutoring Potter at eight o'clock at night. You'll all be asleep then, anyway."

Blaise and Daphne exchange knowing looks.

"What?" I ask, concerned.

Blaise nudges Daphne in the shoulder, and she straightens, grinning. "Well, Theodore Nott and I have been... sneaking out at night, to um... you know..." She leans forward and whispers, "kiss." She then begins to giggle uncontrollably. I hear Blaise mutter "Psychopath" under his breath as Daphne turns to wink at Theodore Nott.

"So Viktor Krum didn't work out, then, huh?" I say, grabbing another round of scrambled eggs.

"No," Daphne says slowly, "It's just, I realized I loved Theo the whole time."

"He asked you out first, didn't he?"

Daphne nods. "Yup. But it was definitely worth it. We're very much in love."

"Right," Blaise mutters beside me. He turns to face me. "Well, I sincerely wish you the best with Potter. Tutoring a Gryffindor..." he shudders. I feel my body tense as I take a sip of pumpkin juice.

"Yup," I croak, my eyes flickering over to Potter, "tutoring a Gryffindor."
