|Xiao POV|

They throw attacks at me left and right, yet despite all of the anger that radiates off them. they're still in there. They're still at least somewhat conscious of what they're doing.

The first time this happened their movements were precise and clean, but now these attacks are sloppy, as if they are acting more on impulse rather than strategy.

Which means..

I can attempt to get them out of their own head.

"Xiao what are you doing? There's no way that y/n will get out of this easily." Zhongli shouts

"I think...I think I know something that will work zhongli"

His eyes widen in shock, but he straightens out his stance.

"You willing to assist me on this?"

"As if I have a choice, I'll do whatever you need" zhongli responds

"Glad to hear we're finally on the same page. Distract them for me"

"I assume you don't have a plan entirely prepared?"

"Oh no I have one, I just thought I'd give y/n a little fun before I put it into action"

He smiles at me, not an annoyed smile but not one of joy either. I can tell he's displeased but, my job isn't about him right now.

Their fight goes on for a while, zhongli did seem to put up a good one. But y/n is more agile than zhongli giving them the advantage.

"Are you about ready now Xiao?" Zhongli shouts

"I do believe I am, switch me places"

"Gladly."

Zhongli shoots his spear out, causing y/n to lunge backwards. This gave Zhongli and I merely a few seconds to switch places. But it was enough for what I needed to do.

Zhongli and I proceed to quickly switch places.

Before they can even land a hit, or even a gaze at me I push them into the water.

"Xiao? What are you-"

Before zhongli can get another word in I jump in the lake immediately afterwards. What am I even doing? This is incredibly ridiculous. I look ridiculous doing this but that doesn't matter.

While we're both under water I can see that this doesn't even looked like it's fazed them, their footing, while uneven, looks as sturdy as it was on the wooden pillars.
