Personality: Ishtar appears to be a wise and benevolent entity, who serves as a guide for Arata as well as his personal motivator and guidance counselor whenever he feels he is at his lowest self-esteem, always giving him the best advice that would help him make the most out of his new life in Misaki City. Despite her composed disposition, Ishtar is not above a good sense of humor and can be cheeky on occasions, like when she joked that Kazumi and Arata would make a great couple, much to their dismay and embarrassment.

History: During the First Great War, Ishtar was an active participant. She was once a member of Bal Masqué and was willing to follow her master, the Snake of the Festival to create a beautiful paradise on Earth. However, she betrayed the organization after learning that to create the much-needed paradise, the Snake of the Festival would have to destroy the whole planet and rebuild everything from scratch. She told this to the Flame Hazes and, eventually, the Snake of the Festival was sealed away. Unfortunately, Bal Masqué punished Ishtar for her defection and confined her in a bangle (later revealed to be Harmonia) and was eventually lost in the sands of time, until one day, a travelling merchant finds the bangle and gave it to a jeweler, who later sold it to Margery Daw.

Magical Powers and Abilities: portal opening, astral projection, flame detection, spatial manipulation (all done by herself in her prime and through her contractor; formerly in the end for the latter, as Arata can use these powers without a medium), holographic projection (whenever she, Arata, and/or Arata's friends are conversing), power fusion (done with Arata)

Trivia:

- Ishtar's name comes from the Mesopotamian goddess of love, beauty, fertility, war, combat, and political power.

- The color of the gem in Ishtar's divine vessel matches that of her flame.

- The name of her vessel references the Greek goddess of harmony and concord.

- Ishtar is the first Crimson Denizen to form a contract with a human without the latter becoming a Flame Haze

- She is also one of several Crimson Denizens to show her true physical appearance (one without shadow or concealment of any important features), initially as a hologram before making her full appearance in an attempt to stop Arata from using Metanoia's full power.

- Despite finally reconciling with the Snake of the Festival in the end, Ishtar decides not to rejoin Bal Masqué as she now prefers to be an independent Crimson Denizen.

- Ishtar is the Crimson Denizen to fuse with their contractor, the first being Snake of the Festival (who merged with the Yūji). In Ishtar's case, it's Arata.

+ Strangely enough, Arata didn't displace his Power of Existence during his fusion with Ishtar.
