Kana Translation: あめみや かずと

Nickname: Kazu (by Hodaka, Moka, and Hina)

Appearance: Kazuto is an ordinary teenage boy with a medium build and height. He also has fair skin, scruffy black hair, and green eyes 👇.

During the movie, wears two outfits.

1. a black tank top underneath a sleeveless purple hoodie with white toggles, periwinkle shorts over black cycling shorts, and white sneakers with black and purple soles 👇

2. a white t-shirt, a short-sleeved blue hoodie over it, dark blue shorts, and beige loafers 👇

In both of his outfits, he often carries a black backpack and wears white headphones 👇.

After the three-year time skip, Kazuto now wears light blue long-sleeved shirt, blue and black collared button-less vest, black pants, black, white, and red sneakers, and a red cap 👇. He still has his white headphones. In addition, Kazuto's black backpack is now replaced by a white shoulder bag 👇.

Personality: Being diagnosed with autism, Kazuto often has trouble socializing with his peers besides Hodaka, whom he befriended when they were kids. He is often a ball of nerves when to certain things like exam results and new stuff to try, as he often assumes and fears the worst to happen. He often suffers writer's block when it comes to writing his autobiographical novel, as he felt that he had lost all his inspiration after spending most of his life on the island and that going to Tokyo would give more inspirations for his literary work.

Thankfully, after his brief time in Tokyo, Kazuto learned three things from his issues. One, trying new things is always a good thing and that outcomes don't always end up badly. Two, inspiration can come from anywhere, whether it is from a new place or a familiar one. With that in mind, when he and Hodaka return to Kozushima, with the experiences he had becoming his new sources of inspiration.

By the time Kazuto enters university 3 years later, he has become confident in himself in facing what his future will be.

Trivia:

- The autobiographical novel that Kazuto is currently working on is entitled Like a Pearl Amidst the Rain. This represents his life in Kozushima and his experiences in Tokyo along with Hodaka and Hina. It doesn't have a title when he began writing it and he only came up with it after he finished his novel.

- His face closely resembles that of Kusaka Kabane from Kemono Jihen.

- At the latter half of the film, Kazuto owns a Neon Q.T. J.K. mini fashion doll box 👇. This was given to him by Moka as a sign of gratitude when he helped her in doing her homework and spending time with her at Shiba Park. At the end, he keeps it in his backpack, along with the box and accessories.

- Kazuto is autistic.

- Kazuto's surname (雨宮) means 'rain shrine' or 'rain temple' while his given name (和人) means 'harmonious person'.

- His (would-be) English voice actor, Dave Franco, is married to Suga Natsumi's English voice actor Alison Brie.
