<FOR CREW EYES ONLY>

The purpose of this training video is to overview common facts of The Storm. This knowledge is integral to mission success.

The Storm is the colloquial term for the Q-2 virus. Unlike pandemics of the past (The Pestilence, 1918 Influenza, and SARS-CoV-2), The Storm is unique due to its celestial origins. Still, like many Earth-bound viruses, there is no cure.

How The Storm impacts the infected:

· Blood film over irises

· Fever

· Fluid in the lungs (can present as Pneumonia)

· Lethargy

· Death (most common in those over 23)

Transmission may result from:

· Air droplets from infected patients

· Prolonged exposure to infected patients

· Lack of ventilation in indoor settings

· Contact with certain bodily fluids-i.e. semen, vaginal or anal fluids, breastmilk, and blood

Those most impacted by exposure:

· Those with pre-existing conditions

· Adults 23 and older

As part of the research team, you and other crew members have quarantined, and so an on-board mask mandate will not be necessary. Should you choose to wear a mask, particularly if you may be most impacted by exposure, please do so.

What to do if exposed:

· Remain in your starsuit

· Submit contaminated gear or samples to bots for cleaning

· Follow bots to the designated quarantine area

· Wait for Captain's orders

*Note- Dura-chambers should not be used as a method of quarantine. However, in the event of other illness or catastrophic mission failure, use of the dura-chamber is encouraged.

Next, you will review a series of images to determine if subjects are: A) infected B) symptomatic C) non-infected

A score of 80% or higher is required before moving to Training Video 2.
