Pretty Woman? - Blake Gallo - Chicago Fire

"Grab my hand!" I yelled as I reached my hand out further

"I - I can't!" The teenage girl yelled

"Come on honey! I'm right here! Grab it and I can give you the help you deserve!" I screamed

"Tell my dad I'm sorry" She said before letting go of the bridge

"No!" I yelled as I watched her take her last breath on the way down

"Don't look" Gallo said as he covered my eyes

*Present Day"

"Y/N?!" I heard a man yell

I snapped out of my trance and turned around to see my Luitenent, I was sitting on my bunk and he was calling me from afar

"Uhh yes Luitenent?" I asked

"Are you sure your good? You've been acting weird since that call this morning?" Kelly explained as he walked over to me

"It will not effect my work today Luitenent! I can assure you if that!" I said smiling

I had worked on squad for 6 years now and I loved it. I loved the adrenaline that would overtake your body when you were en - Route to a call. I had been working alongside Kelly even before he got his Luitenency. I went through the academy with him and never looked back.

"Go home kid" Kelly said

"No! Kelly I'm fine" I said

The only time he ever called me "kid" was when he was worried about me. I was only a year younger than him but I held a special place in his heart. People often think we're dating but we're not. 4 years ago firefighter Blake Gallo joined 81 and I started dating him 2 years ago. Some may say I was out of his league but I've never been happier.

"I'll get Gallo to go home with you, make sure your safe" Kelly suggests

"Kelly! There's 2 hours left! I'm all good" I explained before getting up and walking out

The rest of the day went by in a daze. I was blaming myself for the call this morning. I kept playing all the what ifs in my head, like what if I had just grabbed her hand, what If I had talked to her more, what if I had payed more attention to her, would that have made the outcome any better. But the answer is always no, the one thing your taught in the academy is to move on. You can't blame yourself or come up with what ifs because that will get you no where in the CFD. I arrived home and wanted to curl up in bed. I opened the door to see my living room lit up with fairy lights

"Gallo?" I said as I saw him standing smiling

"You seemed distracted today so I put this together" Gallo explained as I looked around

He had set up a den on my couch and wrapped fairy lights around the blankets, he had placed snacks and drinks out on the table. He had placed my favourite pajammas on my bed and I looked up at him

"I don't deserve you" I said

"No you don't, now go get changed" He said as he took my bags from me

I got changed and found Gallo sitting with take out on the couch, I went over and sat next to him

"Rom com?" He asked, with one already on the tv

"Pretty woman?" I asked as I smiled

"As always" Gallo said as he started to play the movie

He pulled me close and kissed my forehead, I then snuggled into him. After an hour I had fallen asleep. He moved slowly, trying not to wake me. Gallo then picked me up and took me to bed. He tucked me in and kissed my forehead

"Sweet dreams" He muttered before walking out
