After the discussion, the Braves started to prepare for the game against the Sailors. The origin of the name "Sailors" was actually quite interesting. At first, the headmaster of the university had wanted a hooking name, like the Buccaneers or the Pirates. The league disapproved. Below is the official letter that notified them upon the name change.

Thus, Headmaster Nicollet had thought of an "appropriate" name in the "Sailors''. Though their mascot continued to have a pirate flag in it, the NUBL could not do anything about it, as the flag was really small. In their first three seasons, the Sailors made the playoffs and went into the second round thrice but stopped there. After the first three seasons, the Sailors struggled to find stars and had not made the playoffs in over fifty years. One year ago, though, a star had emerged from the Sailors' roster. His name was Wellor George and he led the Sailors from one of the worst records to one game away from the playoffs. It was unfortunate, however, that no one could help him. Nonetheless, he still managed to average a triple-double with 23.4 PPG, 11.3 APG, 15.2 RPG, 6.5 SPG and 3.3 BPG. He played point guard but he was 1.95 metres tall, which always created a mismatch between him and his opponents. He and his teammates could only pray that the Braves would play bad like they did last time. When the game started, their prayers were unheard. The game could only be described as a massacre. The first quarter: 32:3. The second quarter: 78:12. The third quarter: 105:21. And in the last quarter, the score only made the game seem closer than it was as the Coach decided to rest his players. The final score was 128:61. Many media reports pitied Wellor George, as he was a good player with a bad team and one of the reports even went so far as to say "Wellor George is one of the best players this league has ever seen, but his talent is wasted with the Sailors and if he does not go to another team soon, his future is ruined." Wellor George responded on his Instapound account with a post saying :

"Every man has his own fate, whether it be good or bad-- William Pearshake, The Eleventh Night"
