last night i looked up
and saw how amazing the moon was
and then i looked at the people
i'm spending the night with—
we were walking
at the sidewalk on a big road
crossing the pedestrian
with 17 seconds on the clock
talking about random things
that doesn't make sense
repeating same jokes
over and over again
—realizing that my persons
are just as glowing as the moon
science says
once in a while, the moon
moves closer to the earth
if my friends were the moon
i'm grateful that love
is stronger than science
because i had been keeping
my moon since
love has been diligent
in making the moon stay
