Thea Lucis Caelum

I had came of age, graduated, and moved out of the citadel, all within the year of me turning 18. I took a job at a cafe that I loved working at. Much to my adopted father's dismay, he said it was perfectly acceptable for me to remain home until I was married. Or if I wanted independence I could work at the citadel instead of the cafe. But he wouldn't hear of me paying for my apartment, if I argued he would have the landlady not rent to me. So here I was finishing up my morning shift. Noctis wanted to take me out for a birthday lunch just us. My birthday chosen on the day I saved Tenebrae, and the Oracle. Which was today, but would be celebrated on the weekend at the citadel as a royal affair. The Fleuret's would also be in attendance for this birthday party. I couldn't believe he was almost able to move out too. He couldn't wait talking about moving in with me in the extra bedroom. Or better yet if my building had a vacancy he'd rent that with Ignis or Prompto. When some girls from my school came in. "Oh look it's the fake princess, you know they only kept you not to look bad to the people. You shouldn't let people call you princess when you aren't really one!" "Oh wow Gabby that's so true. She wants to be royal so bad bet she'd marry her adopted brother just to become queen." "While your words don't bother me anymore Gabby, Sarah, you have successfully managed to piss off my brother and his friends! Hello Noct, Ignis, Prompto, Gladio, I didn't know he was going to bring you guys too!" I watched as Ignis and Prompto stepped up to the girls. "While his Majesty is forgiving, you'll find I am not. Understand that Thea is every bit of the Caelum line, blood doesn't lie. I suggest you leave now." I watched them pale at Ignis's words, plus realizing that the crown prince was standing right in front of them. When Noct spoke up about how he felt about what they said to me. "While my sister is apparently used to the slights and cruel words from girls like you. I am not, and I will not tolerate someone talking to my sister like that." I watched as they fled the cafe, and didn't look back. Probably to embarrassed because of Noct being there to see how nasty they were. "Can we go talk someplace quiet for a minute Thea, give us a minute guys." "Of course Noct." "Do what ya gotta." "We'll be here when you're done." We stepped into my managers office, I stood waiting for him to speak. "How long Thea? Did anyone ever try to truly be your friend." "Noct it's fine it's not like it was something new." "Tell me how long Thea? I want to know, I need to know!" "Since I came to live in the citadel, my only friends were you, Ignis, Gladio, later Prompto, and well Ravus he's been my constant confidant. We talk almost every day since back then." "Does dad know? Did he know back then?" "I never told him not in words anyway. But do you remember when we were talking about the car for my driver's test. Well a few weeks later he gave us phones, mine had Ravus number programed into it. Someone must have said he was my only genuine friend, because everyone else was looking for a way to meet you, Ignis, Gladio, and later Prompto. I told one girl who said she was in love with you, that you were going to marry the Princess LunaFreya. She wasn't happy with that, and tried to smack me for lying. That I was the fake princess of Lucis, and that I didn't know anything about the King and his son. It kinda stuck and the girls would use it as an insult towards me. Then when your engagement to Luna was announced, it was my fault because I lied about the girls being nasty to me at school." I couldn't help but wonder what they would say when my engagement to Ravus was announced. It wasn't common knowledge yet, but father and Noctis knew as well as Luna. Our parents decided to match us up me with Ravus, and Noctis with Luna. "So what happens when we announce your impending nuptials with Ravus Thea? You will be a princess of Tenebrae and later it's Queen. I know our powers will fade with each generation after you banish the darkness, but there is a very good chance you will give birth to the next Oracle. Considering that Luna will be Queen here." "Okay, okay enough with the heavy Noct I get it. I won't let them disrespect me anymore. If you want to tell dad about it, I'll explain to him what's been going on since back then too. Can we go eat now?" We left the cafe and headed to the car, dad let's Ignis drive I noticed that Noct Prompto and Gladio all sat in back while Ignis opened the passenger side door for me. Even with all the heavy talk about me being bullied over the years, I still had a great time with my brother and his friends.

Regis Lucis Caelum

When my son told me about the bullying that Thea received from the girls at school. I found myself livid, but when I learned that they called her the fake princess of Lucis it broke me. The child I tried so hard to show how much she was mine. Could that be why she stayed so distant from me, us. Because of these insults! I needed to know if any of her teachers heard her called this, and deal with them accordingly. As well as anyone close to the citadel too. When I learned that Abigail Lorel was the one who created the nickname for Thea, my heart sank. Her parents were loyal, and had been killed in the daemon attack that injured Noctis. She was always having her grandparents ask if she could visit the Princess since she wanted to be her friend. I would ask Thea about it, and she'd shoot it down with an excuse. Now I understood why she was trying to meet Noctis, and was using Thea as a way to gain entry to the citadel. She protected Noctis by taking the bullying and the cruelty they threw her way. A few days later I sat down with her previous teachers and school board. "We never heard a single insult your Majesty, if we had we would've taken a hard stance against it." A retainer for my daughter stepped into the room he was allowed to attend classes with her and had all the same teachers. I watched as the teachers became nervous and began to fidget. "Aaron please tell what you know about this." "Your Majesty I would've said something when all this happened, but Thea swore me to silence. She said if I told she wouldn't let me be in her classes anymore. She would tell you I was lying about it and that the girls would back her. To which she was right, but every single one of our teachers knew about it! They even let them call her the fake Princess of Lucis, after Abigail started that insult. I think most people were envious of the Princess, and took out their jealousy on her." It was then I spoke I knew I would have all the teachers removed from ever teaching again. What they allowed was selfishly cruel. "Do any of you know who Thea is? Do you remember the stories about a child healing daemons and returning them to the humans they once were. The child that saved Tenebrae and the Oracles, by freezing the imperial soldiers in a second. Then shattering them into nothing. Before she returned to us she decimated Niffleheim's forces it's why we haven't been attacked in all these years she's been here. Thea with the help of my son will heal the daemons and end the creeping darkness of our planet." When the the schools board removed the teachers, I called the families of the ring leaders of Thea's bullying. Explaining that their daughter's would be barred from ever attending a royal function again. They were understanding and would handle everything else from here on out. When the next party happened for her birthday. She was happier and more open with those around her when the girls were absent from her party. When the Fleuret's entered the ballroom, I watched as Ravus approached her. Luna came to stand next to Noctis while Sylva greeted me. "Hello Regis, our children seemed to have paired up this evening. Are we still announcing the engagement tonight?" "Of course Sylva, Thea's agreed to allow us to announce it tonight. I have a reporter here waiting for a special announcement tonight." We had Ravus and Thea come to the dais for the announcement. What Thea didn't know was that Ravus had his mother's engagement ring for this moment. To say we surprised the people was an understatement, but watching as Ravus gave Thea the ring was a beautiful moment. When I heard Ravus ask, "Are you happy love?" "Of course, is this your mother's ring Ravus?" "Yes Noctis gave Luna his mother's so I gave you mine." "Thank you so much for that, it made this moment so much more special for me." With the end of them speaking the crowd asked for a kiss from the couple. To which they complied, albeit was a chaste kiss just a gentle brushing of their lips. While the people were hoping it was a love match, this was more about friendships and alliances. While we knew Ravus and Thea cared for each other, love was something they'd have to grow into.
