━━━━━━ ◦ Faith ◦ ━━━━━━

Faith was relieved that her father wasn't going to die, yet. Being put in prison meant disease and possibly torture, She knew her father wasn't going to have it easy for the next, well however long he would be in prison. She had the idea that maybe she could stop the redcoats from going to get Jamie tomorrow though that lasted for only a few moments before her rational and logical mind took over and told her that could only get her into trouble and they would still manage to capture her father.

She and Prue entered the tavern they both sat at a table and food was quickly served to them. They were brought cold meats, vegetables and fruit and a bit of bread and cheese. They quickly dug in

"So how many books have ye read?" Faith asked "I thought I was a big reader but you seem to be more,"

"Aye, I use to pass the time. I've read almost everything I could find Fact and Fiction. Reading is positively delightful, You can go to such far and distant lands and go on such confounding adventures without leaving the place that your sitting," Prue said excited ripping off a small piece of bread and putting it in her mouth

"I use it as an escape too," Faith said "At Lallybroch, when I had to work as a maidservant and no one truly liked me or wanted to be in my company, I used books as a friend instead of getting an actual friend,"

"Books are a wonderful company," Prue commented "I love books about otherworldly adventures and lands. Which ones do you like to read, You enjoy Shakespeare quite a bit,"

"I mean I've read two of his works from the library at the near village. I've read a lot of poetry which was fun, I had fun analysing it figuring out what the symbolism meant but the ones I truly loved the most was on healing and the science behind the herbs and their medical uses. I once received a book from Castle Leoch it was written originally by a man William Kenneth and then edited by a woman by the name of Claire Beauchamp she scratched out a lot of the notes and then contributed a lot about what did she call it? Bacteria, yes and germs..." Prue's eyes widened when Faith said that "..and then surgery. cutting people open to remove parts to keep them alive, and then you sew them back together. The human anatomy. I love it so much," Faith finished taking a sip of ale and then taking a few grapes and popping them in her mouth

"So your a healer of sorts?" Prue asked

"Well, I would like to be when I'm older. I would like to know more about healing but most of the books I've borrowed contradict a lot of things Claire Beauchamp wrote. Like she wrote that arsenic will bring colour back to the skin but will slowly poison them, but in every other book I've read, it says it can be used to treat asthma and cancer. I suppose I trust Claire more because she describes the effects of medicine in such detail and all these other men just say 'treats asthma' ye ken?"
