This is purely a work of fiction. While this story is based on King Karikala Chola of the acclaimed Chola dynasty in India, information on his personal life is scarce. This is my attempt to capture the essence of his life as he happens to be the first to rise to glory in the long list of the famous Cholas (like Raja Raja Chola and Rajendra Chola) and includes fictional characters, the names of whom have been taken from Sandilyan's Yavana Rani series. This is however NOT a re-telling of Yavana Rani. Footnote has been provided, especially for words in Tamil :)
