I stared at him in utter shock.
"It's you!" I gasped, dumbfounded by the face of the man I saw before me. Shane glared at me with malice woven into his eyes.
"Who did you expect?" He growled. "I've returned to finish what I started. And now," he grinned, in a sick, and terrifying manner. "My unfortunate sister is not around to save you."
I clenched my fists, restraining myself from punching him there and then.
"You beast!" I exclaimed. "You're a savage!"
Shane chuckled, calmly seating himself on the table edge.
"I'm no savage," he said calmly. "I haven't killed anyone... Yet." He added, with another evil grin."Since my cover has been so regretfully blown," he sneered, glaring at me as he walked around Chandler and I. "You've likely guessed what my motives are. Before, Karl managed to, shall I say... Triumph over me, with some help from Hazel. But not this time, no, no..." He waved a finger, folding one arm across his chest while resting his other one on it.
"This time," he went on steadily. "I will get rid of him, and take what's mine."
He smirked, and I realized with a sickening jolt he was after Y/N. That's why he wanted to get rid of Karl. And likely why he injured Hazel, so she couldn't help Y/N like she did last time.
"You'll never succeed!" Chandler said then; he'd recovered from the blows he received, and now stood up, standing beside me as a sort of confidence movement.Shane gave a smirk, shaking his head as a disappointed mother would to her disobedient child.
"That's where you're wrong, my friend."KARL POV
Y/N and I spent all our time together. At one point, Chandler's fiancé had callen to speak to Y/N, and was apparently distraught when she'd heard about the news concerning Chandler. I understood her feelings, and Y/N assured her that the police would try to figure out where he was, and if he was alright.Tareq's brother contacted us a few times as well. He too, was extremely worried when he figured out the whole story, and we told him we'd let him know if anything became of the situation.
Apart from that, we spoke to few people. I didn't stream at all anymore, and even Ethan and Bailey had taken the time off streaming and interactions online because of the situation. The house had become very quiet, and no one was enjoying it.
Now I was in my bed, trying to entertain myself with some mobile games, when Y/N came in. She was holding an envelope. I stiffened with dread, when I saw the now familiar red colour. Y/N was pale, as she handed it to me without a word. I slid my finger beneath the seal and tore it open, taking out the parchment paper inside.
This time, the words within formed a much larger sentence, which read, If you want your little friends alive, come visit.
Below was some kind of address scribbled in the same ink as before.
"You can't go!" Was the first thing Y/N said. I looked up at her.
"But it says, 'if you want your friends alive.' It has to be the guy who took Chandler and Tareq! I have to go, for their sake."Y/N was concerned. "But what if something happens to you? Whoever this is is clearly after you. It's not safe!" I knew she was right. But what choice did I have? I couldn't let anything happen to my friends.
"How about if I go with someone?" I suggested. "Y'know, safety in numbers?"
Y/N looked doubtful. "Karl, please. You can't go. Not with anyone, either. Besides, what if they're bluffing?"I slid the parchment paper back inside the envelope, folding it shut and tossing it aside.
"Y/N, come on. Chandler and Tareq go missing after Hazel gets severely hurt after we get warned of a dangerous person in the neighborhood, and then the sender of these letters mentions keeping our friends alive. What are the chances of all of this being coincidence?"Y/N shrugged, seemingly trying her best to come up with an option. "Maybe a hater heard about our friends going missing and is playing a sick prank?" She suggested, but I could hear the doubtfulness in her voice, and shook my head.
"I don't want to risk it," I said, sitting up. "If it's real, I don't want to ignore it and have something terrible happen. I'm going."
At that moment, Y/N suddenly gripped my shoulders, and pulled me towards her in a rather fierce kiss, catching me off guard. I reciprocated, and it lasted a few heartbeats.
When we pulled apart, I gazed into her eyes, which suddenly held such passion that I blinked in surprise."If you're going," she said steadily, all nervousness gone.
"I'm coming with you."A/N: Okay, hello! Short chapter today because I wanted to space these parts out a bit, and this seemed like a good spot to end the chapter with a bang.
I hope you enjoyed!
Anticipate chapter ten!
Have a wonderful day. \ (^-^) /
