"I don't wanna go to school tomorrow" Meredith complained as she laid down in Derek's lap

"I wish we could skip school" Amelia laughed

"We should go.." Derek sighed and brushed his fingers through Meredith's hair

"Meredith, are you staying for dinner?" Christopher asked

"Can I?" Meredith asked sheepishly

"Of course. Do you wanna stay the night too?"

"If that's okay for all of you" Meredith smiled

"Of course, dear" Carolyn smiled as she peaked into the room

After dinner, the whole family was resting on the couch while watching a show on tv. Meredith's loud snores filled the room as she was asleep on Derek's lap

"She seems exhausted" Carolyn frowned

"She had a fight with her mom earlier" Amelia said

"Again?" Kathleen asked

"Yeah" Amelia sighed

"I wanna strangle that woman" Carolyn muttered under her breath

"Mom" Mark and Derek laughed

"By the way, it's time for bed" Christopher looked at his watch

"I'll bring her to Amy's room" Derek offered and scooped up Meredith but she shifted a bit, he was probably hurting her

"Do I need to carry her?" Christopher asked his son

"No, she's not heavy at all. I think she lost weight again" Derek said

"I noticed, I'm happy she ate dinner with us tonight" Carolyn said

Derek walked up the stairs with Meredith in his arms and placed her down in Amelia's double bed. He kissed her forehead and walked to his own room

The next morning Amelia woke up and laughed as she heard Meredith's snores

"Mer" Amelia whispered "Mer, wake up" Amelia shook Meredith awake

"Aw, stop" Meredith said as she woke up

"We have school and I think mom's making waffles" Amelia smiled

"I'm not hungry, I wanna sleep" Meredith whined

"Don't be a big baby" Amelia laughed and slapped Meredith "Let's get ready"

"Urgh" Meredith groaned and stayed in bed

"Derek, go wake up your wifey, will ya?" Amelia laughed as she ran down

Derek smiled at Amelia mentioning Mer as his 'wifey'. He could only hope that in 20 years they would be married and were having a kid together

"Mer, are you coming downstairs?" Derek asked as he walked into Amelia's room

'I'm cold and I don't wanna move" She complained

"Let's go" He laughed and pulled her up her feet "Here, wear my hoodie" Derek pulled off his hoodie and handed it to Meredith

Meredith quickly pulled it over her head and cuddled into Derek's arms "You're so warm"

"Let's go eat waffles" He laughed as the two of them slowly walked down and took a seat at the table

"Meredith, are you staying over tonight?" Carolyn peaked into the room

"Can I? I don't wanna see Ellis" Meredith whispered

"Of course. I'll make lasagna" Carolyn smiled

"Thanks" Meredith whispered and tried to smile

"Wanna watch a movie tonight?" Derek asked as he rubbed her back

"Yeah.. Sounds good" She rested her head on his shoulder

"Come on, let's go change" Derek pulled her on her feet and they all went upstairs

"Thanks Der for your sweater" Meredith smiled and took it off, revealing a bit of her stomach

"Mer, what's that?" Derek pointed at a bruise on her stomach

"What?" She took a look "Oh, I don't know. I must have bumped into something" She put on a smile and left to the bathroom to get herself ready

"Mer, show me" Derek said sternly

"Derek-" Meredith sighed

"Mer, i'm serious" Derek said and frowned

"Okay" Meredith gave in

Meredith lifted her shirt and Derek gasped by seeing her stomach and back. It was full of very dark bruises and he had no idea of what was happening here

"Mom!" Derek yelled and Meredith quickly lowered her shirt

"What's going on?" Carolyn asked as she walked in

"Mer, please show mom" Derek begged

"It will go away, Der" Meredith's voice cracked

"What's going on dear?" Carolyn asked concerned

Meredith slowly lifted up her shirt and revealed the bruises

"God, Meredith.. Who did this?" Carolyn gasped

"I- It's not really someone.. I don't remember" Meredith whispered

"Derek, can you ask your dad to come upstairs?" Carolyn asked

Derek nodded and concerned as he was, he left the room to go find his dad. When he did, they walked upstairs and saw his mom and girlfriend sitting on the bed. Meredith wrapped in Carolyn's arms

"Derek, can you wait downstairs?" Carolyn asked and Derek left

"Carolyn, what's going on?" Christopher asked concerned

"I think we have to bring in Meredith" She whispered "Dear, can you show Cristopher your bruises?"

Meredith slowly lifted up her shirt and Christopher gasped. He had a feeling and this wasn't a good one
