"We need to have her mother's okay before we can start" Arizona said

"Then we have to ask it now. I'll page her" Christopher said

A couple of minutes later, Ellis Grey walked through the doors "I'm sorry Dr Shepherd but if my daughter is skipping school I really don't-" She started but Christopher interrupted her

"Meredith got admitted to the hospital. We ran blood tests and a bone marrow biopsy. Dr Grey, she has stage 2 leukemia" Christopher said

"It's back?" Ellis frowned

"It's back. I wanna take a full body scan but at first sight I don't think it's in her brain. Last scans confirmed no tumor" Christopher replied

"Do whatever you think is needed, I give you my permission" Ellis said and was ready to walk back out if the room

"Ellis, don't do that. Don't leave her a second time. Not because of cancer" Christopher warned but Ellis walked out anyways

"Now we have to go tell her" Arizona sighed

"My wife and kids are with her. She'll need us" Christopher's heart broke for Meredith

They made their way over to Meredith's room. The girl was asleep in the big bed and it brought back very bad memories for the Shepherd family

"Dad, please" Amelia was on the edge of crying

"We should wake her up" Christopher sighed

"Mer.. Mer, dad's here" Derek shook her awake

"Aww" She winced as he touched one of her bruises

"I'm so sorry" Derek whispered "But dad's here"

Meredith slowly opened her eyes and scanned the look on Christopher and Arizona's eyes

"Cancer.." She sighed

"Stage 2 leukemia. We wanna make a full body scan to be sure it hasn't spread" Christopher explained

"No" Meredith said sternly "No, I wanna go home"

"Meredith, even if I wouldn't be able to convince you, you can't. Your mom gave us her permission to run every test that's needed and every treatment that's needed to cure you" Christopher sat down on the side of her bed as Amelia was curled op in Mark's arms as tears streamed down her face

"Mer, please honey" Derek whispered

"It sounds as if I don't have much choice anyways" She turned around, trying not to wince as she accidentally laid down on one of the bruises and closed her eyes

"Meredith, we're taking you for scans now" Christopher grabbed her hand but she pulled away

"Fine" Meredith whispered harshly

"Mer.." Amelia whispered

Meredith kept her eyes closed as they wheeled her for the scans. She didn't speak despite the tries of Arizona and Christopher

"Meredith, we need to talk" Arizona tried again and took a seat on the edge of Meredith's bed "Look, I only have a couple of minutes before Carolyn and your friends will come back inside but please Meredith, I know you'll win this fight"

"I don't wanna do it! Why does no one understand me?" Meredith cried out

"We're all gonna be here" Arizona assured her

"I am the one who will get shots every 5 seconds, who will vomit every second of the day. My mother left me!" Meredith opened up

"Meredith, we're gonna place a PICC line for your meds and chemo, you won't feel a thing one we inserted it" Arizona assured her

Meredith nodded slightly

"We scheduled you in a bit. You got this Meredith." Arizona squeezed Meredith's hand

"Can I ask something?" Meredith asked and both Arizona and Christopher nodded their heads

"Can you freeze my eggs or anything? I really wanna have a possibility of having kids" Meredith quietly said

"Meredith, I'm not sure of what quality your eggs are because of the chemo you had when you were six" Arizona carefully said

"I know" Meredith sighed. She had done her research before as she was sure she wanted to become a mother as long as she would have her babies with Derek "But there's still a possibility" Meredith smiled sightly "I need to try"

"We'll take care of it while we place the PICC line" Christopher squeezed her hand

"Thank you" Meredith squeezed his hand back "I'm sorry for behaving like this"

"We know you don't mean too. You're badass Meredith" Arizona smiled

"Please just keep fighting for all of us" Christopher asked her

"I'm just so scared" Meredith's voice cracked

"And you have every reason for it!" Christopher kissed her head before the others came in

"I'm sorry" Meredith apologised again

The three kids pulled into a hug together as Christopher closely held his wife in his arms

"If you want to, you can come home with us in between treatments" Carolyn said "I don't want you to be home alone"

"Thanks Carolyn. I would love that but only if you're sure? I mean, I can just stay here or-" Meredith rambled

"We're sure and I'm sure your mother will agree on that" Carolyn grabbed Meredith's hand

"Thank you guys so so much" Meredith whispered

"Okay Meredith, we're gonna take you with us now if that's okay" the nurse smiled

"Can I come with her in the OR? She's still a teen-" Carolyn started

"Of course you can, Carolyn" Arizona smiled as she walked inside

"Thank you" Meredith whispered
