The New Guy Walks In

Everyone was heading into Prof. Yangcrates class, and I saw Kang Sol, I headed towards her. She was wearing a cap today with a long cardigan and jeans. 

"Hey you ready for the new semester Han Joonhwi?"

"Yeah I'm ready we got this, plus we got yangcrates this year again"

"True but I heard we got a new professor this semester his from overseas"

The door opened and we took our seats in the center of the room I put my bag on the side on one of the seats when professor Yangcrates walked in with someone next to him. He looked around almost as if he was looking for someone, his eyes stopped on Han Joon-hwi and then afterwards on me but instead of the serious expression he smiled at me. I turned my head to look if he was smiling at someone else but nope it was at me, then he stared back at Han Joon-hwi, but he was looking at me 

"You're not wrong he was staring at you Sol"

"But he looked at you as well Han Joon-hwi"

Yeah he was but, I just hope it's not who I think it is

"What do you mean?"

"I think its my cousin, who I haven't seen in years"

"What!!"

Everyone looked at us and Han Joon-Hwi grabbed my arm to sit down and shush me.

A slam came from the podium Han joon-hwi and I turned around and looked at an irritated Yangcrates looking at us

"Are the two of you done with your conversation, its the start of the semester and your at it already"

I stood up and spoke but he stopped me.

" Mr. Han what is it"

I looked at Yangcrates, while he just smiled at the situation and was enjoying the scolding I was receiving

"I apologize in behalf for both of us for disturbing the class"

"Very well sit down let me proceed to introducing your new classmate. This is Han Tae-Wook and he is a transfer student from Harvard he finished his undergraduate there and started his first year of law school but decided to continue his studies in Korea. He was a student assistant for Ms. Kang's sister. We will be having two new professor's as well Prof. Shim and Prof. Han which is Han Tae-Wook's older brother"

What his my sister's student and she will be teaching here as well. But wait they have the same last name as han joon-hwi. 

"Mr. Han here is also related to our very own Second-Round Judicial Exam Passer Han Joon-hwi"

I heard Han joon-hwi gasp, but I didn't expect for the new guy to have a reaction as well he looked like he had no idea that they were related.

"Well that's it for the introduction if you have anything to say"

"It's nice to meet you all as well it's nice to see you Han Joon-hwi after so many years cousin I didn't recognize you"

What the fuck was going on, how could this be, the asshole that I met the first day here turned out to be my cousin and not only that he was also friends with Prof. Shim's sister. I walked to there aisle and stood in front of the chair were Kang sol's bag was. She moved it and smiled and gestured me to sit down. I sat there on silence until Kang sol gave me a note and I read it

Meet me after class we need to talk 

-Han Joon-hwi-

I gestured him letting him know that i was alright with it

Kang sol looked at us in silence. But the silence broke when Prof. Yang asked me about a case that happened in korea and remembered in detail about it from reading about it last week while preparing to transfer into Hankuk. I finished answering him when kang sol looked at me

"Your just as smart as Mr. smarty pants here jaja, I guess it runs in the family"

Han joon-hwi looked at me, then I gestured him a what

"Kang sol if you ever need a tutor you can call me alright"

"Ohh really cool then"

"Pass me your phone, let me put my number in"

I felt a pair of eyes making holes at my head right about that minute, the class was over and I got up and started to walk out with both of them. Kang sol approached Han Joon-hwi and said something to him in the ear

Take it easy with him, Han joon-hwi he looks like a nice guy plus he told me he would help me study

"Good for you! I won't have to help you anymore then"

She looked at me with an upset expression and walked away

"Kang sol wait I didn't mean it that way"

He grabbed kang sol by the arm and patted her arm, and he looked at me with a death face, and walked towards me serious

"What the hell is your problem why did you yell at her like that. Why are you so uptight is she your girlfriend"

She wasn't so what was he doing and reacting that way. Getting angry like that and yelling at her our of irritation because she thinks his nice

"You made me mad, I can help Kang sol, she is my friend"

"Well I want to be her friend as well cousin, plus I've been knowing her for a while. Her sister told me about her and just by how she expressed herself about her it made me come back to korea. I want to have her passion to fight and stay true to what is right. I want to become a lawyer with kang sol's law mind and her good will. I don't just want to be smart and have the grades but help others while achieving my degree through this road. Plus you have changed your not that arrogant anymore she has changed you. I'm not saying you were a bad person before but, you helped her and didn't feel like you owed her something or maybe you do and that's why you stick to her, but I don't think so it's more than that. Ask yourself that before you come to me and tell me that you have been helping her all this way but know that someone else can, you don't want them near her. I'll catch you later I have another class with Kang Sol to be exact" 

Was he right was it more than just friendship, was the reason I didn't want my cousin to get near her because there was more. Was it not just gratefulness I felt for her, but like he said I don't feel like I owe her anything because I know she did those things by heart and her goodwill without anything in return. Plus helping her always felt naturally and didnt feel like I was doing it because I owed her. I did it because I genuinely care about her well being and want her to achieve so much because I believe in her. Which meant I wasn't going to let someone else look at that side of her. But someone had already done so, while being far away, my own cousin to be exact
