Fear the walking dead

Chapter 4

Emma:

My alarm went off and I got up right away to turn it off. I turned around and saw the kids asleep. I decided that they should stay home with Luke today.
I get out of bed slowly and get ready. I decide to take a shower and cry at the sudden realization that my children, my babies are going to be in world that is more dangerous then before. I finally get out and get breakfast ready for the kids. I leave the house after kissing everyone goodbye.

At school

When I get to class I see no one in there, everyone being sick. My mom came by my class and asked if I wanted to wander the halls with her, I agreed. We walked by Travis's classroom to hear him talk about a dog as an analogy. As we continue walking we see Artie in the room listening to teachers.
It was on Ms. Ruth who teaches math and changes to Travis, who explains how Nature will always win.

We left and continued walking around when mom suddenly gets a call that Nick is gone. She went to tell Travis while I went and started my car.

We all left and headed to the hospital. While mom and Travis were talking to the nurse I called Luke and the kids.
I was just asking how the kids and him are doing. After the conversation, mom said we are going to the church but I told her I couldn't due to having to stop by Calvin's to ask him. Mom said she is heading there afterwards so I decided to go with her.

We finally made it to the church and I parked and locked my car.

"Hello?... There's no bodies. They couldn't just get up and walk away." Travis said when suddenly mom and I see blood.
"Maddy. Emma." Travis said
"Something bad happened here." Mom said
"You said it yourself. Things happen here all the time." He said
"Yeah. It's a violent place." Mom said back
"I've seen worse." I said in a whisper

Mom and Travis head upstairs while I stay down and examine the blood. Finally they came down and we headed off to Calvin's. When we get there he is cleaning his car. In my opinion, I don't trust him but mom and Nick do so I give him the benefit of the doubt.

"Cal." Mom said
"Miss C. Mr. Manawa, Ms. Hobbs." He stated to us
"Hey Cal have you seen Nick?" Mom asked
"No, I haven't seen him in a while." He said
"You know where he might go?" Mom asked
"No, I'm sorry." He said
"Okay. Thank you, Calvin." Mom said back

As mom and Travis get in there truck, I turn towards Calvin and say,
"If I find out your lying your gonna see why I was one of the most dangerous soldiers in the military."
"Yes, ma'am." He said nervously
I walk away and head into my car. It is night time when we are on the freeway.

There are sirens going off everywhere when suddenly we here a police officer tells us to stay inside. As soon as I see Travis take off I follow right behind but then take a turn heading home.

The next day

Today I get ready but this time I bring my guns with me in my holster. I also bring my badge, showing that I can carry this gun. I leave the house locking the door and making sure the gate is sealed shut.

At school

I make it to school and see mom and Travis looking at a video of last night. All I see is police officers shooting a man and him not dying and I immediately think back to the files and what they said. I leave after seeing that and Travis and mom soon follow.
"This is what Nick was describing" Travis stated
"Call the police. We have to find him. I don't know how else." Mom said
"Don't call the police they won't do anything. I'll call my agents from both services and have them look for him." I told them
"Okay, Emma." Travis said
"Emma, thank you sweetie." Mom said
"No problem, mom. He is still my baby brother." I said
As I am about to leave mom asked why I have my guns today.
"Because from what I have seen, I'm gonna need it." I told her while walking away.

As I am walking around the halls I decide to go to Alicia's class and see mom heading there too. We knock on the door and ask if we can borrow Alicia, when suddenly we hear Artie state that it's a half day.
"I want you on the bus." Mom told Alicia.
"What's going on?" She asked
"People are worried about the video." I told her
"Isn't that fake?" She asked
"I want you home, okay?" Mom said
"What about Nick?" She asked
"Well, you'll be there when he gets home." Mom told her
"Is the video why you have on your badge and gun." She asked me
"Yes. It's not a joke, okay. I need you to listen to mom and go home, okay?" I told her
"Okay, I will." She said
She walks away heading towards the buses

Me and mom walk off towards the exits too, when we see Travis come downstairs meeting with us.
"Let's get out of here before we get blocked in." He told us.

I told mom to follow me back home, so I can tell her something. We make it home within a few minutes and all my kids come tackling me in a hug.
"Hi, babies." I said
"Hi, mommy. Hi, grandma. Hi, Travis." They said us.
"Hi, kiddos" Travis and mom said back
"Go back to watching TV, okay." I told them
"Okay, mommy." They said back

"Do you want anything." I asked them
"Nah, we good, Emma. Sweetie why are all your weapons out. And your truck is packed. What's happening?" Mom said

"You know how Luke and I work for the FBI and CIA well some information came to us abo--" I was saying when suddenly a phone went off. I look at Travis and he said Nick was calling. He asked to meet up with him at some place.

"Emma, we need to have this talk later. Maddy, let's go, I know where Nick is." He said as he started getting up
"Wait-. Luke come here babe. Can you go with mom and Travis to get Nick, please. Also, bring your guns." I asked him
"Yeah, sure babe. Don't worry, I will" He said
"Let's go guys." He said as they all went in Travis truck

Luke:

We made it to where Nick was and we see him freaking out.
"No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no." Nick kept repeating
"Nick, hey." Travis tried saying
"I told you not to bring her. I told you not to bring her." He said
"Where have you been?  We've been looking for you." Maddison said
"Maddison, Travis, be quiet for a second. Hey, Nick, what happened?" I asked
"I did--I did a bad thing." He said
"Nick, what happened?" Maddison asked
"Okay, so he--he pulled a gun on me and tried to kill me. I wanted to know what was in--what was in the shit he gave me, you know?" He said
"What are you talking about?" Travis said
"I shot Calvin. I killed Calvin." He said
"Where's Calvin? Where, Nick? What are you talking about?" Maddisom asked Nick
"Okay, everyone calm down. Nick get in the car and show us okay." I told them

As we go down the tunnel, we see the car. So we stop and get out.
"Nick, where was he?" Travis said
"He was right here. He was here. He was here. Right here." He kept saying
"There's nobody here, baby. There's nobody here." Maddison stated
"Nick, come on. Get in the truck." Travis said
Suddenly Nick breaks down crying. After a few seconds he gets up and gets in the car. As we are backing up we see Calvin. So we get out.
"Calvin?" Maddison asked
"No mom don't" I hear Nick screaming.
Suddenly he takes a lunge at Maddison but Travis stops him. While we are distracted, Nick started the car and ran him over. But he didn't stay down, he got up again. I go up behind him and shoot him in the head getting blood on the truck. We rush to get in the truck and leave.
"What the hell is happening?" Maddison asked
"I have no idea." Travis said
"Did Emma not tell you?" I asked
"Tell us what?" Travis asked
"That the reason people are eating other people and coming back as monsters is because there is virus that turns people into flesh eating monsters and the only way to kill them is through the head."
I told them
"How do you know this?" Nick asked
"Due to Emma and I's jobs we got the information first." I told them
Suddenly everything became quiet.
