Just once

145 28 48

Make mistakes,
Just one drink;
Feel the heat,
Burning through skin.

Just one pill,
Just one shot,
Just one boy,
Just one girl,
Just give it a try; after all-
What's the harm
In befriending the rogue?
What's the harm
Of a lost friend?

What's the harm in a trip to Hell?

You'll never know,
If you don't experiment.

So follow their words,
And jump in the pit;
Let larva sear,
Who you're underneath.

Burn your ashes,
No need to return.
'cause nothing you experience,
Will ever mean much.

Unless you learn from the past
and dive deeper into waters,
That you were told by them-
Are much too shallow.

Unless you learn to see through the hollow;
Until you find the home made for you,
Hidden away in the depths too obscure,
To be seen by someone who's never sought doom.

Till then, go on:
Have another drink,
Let one more mistake,
Be etched on your list.

Carving an identity,
Through the frays of grey.
Walking through a story,
That's not meant to be read.

Mystery, mystery, mystery!
All of the world's a mystery;
And as you struggle through the swamps,
Maybe some-place, some-day, some-where along the way, you'll find the one you've been longing for everyday.

Farewell . . . .

And make sure you let me know the answer to my question:

"Did you feel it?"
