Saving Riley

Riley's POV 

Have you ever felt like you're being watched. Before you say it, I know I'm under a lot of pressure given the Lucas side of everything but I can't help shaking the feeling that every corner I turn someone is already there knowing my pathing to a tee
"Hey Riley! I needed to speak to you" Miss Kate said calling me into her office
"Yeah" I asked taking a seat in the seat that had become my designated seat whenever we have a chat or a staff meeting. By Staff I mean me and Kate
"Well how much time do you have in between your extra classes at the moment?" she asked and I shrugged
"I get and hour here and there" I replied, summer break was ending so I am pretty sure it's going to become a little quieter during the day
"well a lot of parents have approached me" she said instantly making me nervous
"What have I done? What did I do wrong?" I asked frantically making Miss Kate laugh
"nothing Riley, they wanted to see if you had any availability for one to one classes with some students. It pays a lot more then the classes you tend to run" She replied, I looked at her, was she giving me a promotion and a raise?
"What" I breathed out
"Well it's completely up to you if you take it but the one to one class alone pays over double how much I give you for a single class" She smiled, I squealed
"I could always limit my classes back down when school starts then take on some one to ones and keep my classes?" I offered and all she did was smile
"We'll call it Riley's corner and you can deck out the music room for it all" she smiled 
"Riley's Corner, I like that" I smile hugging her
I couldn't believe it, it felt like I had finally found my purpose

I rushed over to Lost & Found in search of James, as soon as I found him I pounced. I jumped onto his back making him jump himself before laughing looking up at me
"Hey there spider monkey" He chuckled, I smiled jumping off of him
"To what do I owe this pleasure?" He asked
"You seem extremely happy" He chuckled sitting on the sofa allowing me to sit next to him
"I've got a Riley Corner" I smiled, he smiled but also had a confused look on his face
"A what?" He asked 
"Some of my Students want one to one classes so Miss Kate gave me my own space for it and is calling it Riley's Corner! It pays a lot more then my classes to" I smiled, James gleamed back at me before pulling me into a hug
"That's great Ri, I'm so proud of you!" he said giving me an extra squeeze
I pulled away and looked at him
"I wouldn't be in this position without you James! I never would have asked Miss Kate for a position if you hadn't given me the idea!" I explained making him chuckle taking my hands into his
"That isn't true, I reckon she would have offered you it eventually. Give yourself credit Ri. Nobody but you got yourself here!" He said rubbing his thumb against back of my hand, I smiled down at our hands before looking back at him
"don't forget me when you are up to your elbows in popularity though!" He chuckled making me hug him again
"more like don't YOU forget me when you are off touring with the band" I smiled making him chuckle
"Actually now you mention that. I have to meet the boys for practice on the stage downstairs, wanna come? We have a gig in a few weeks and want to check we still have it" James offered, I nodded. I hadn't seen the boys perform on stage in years, it would be an honour  

I followed James down to the stage. The boys were all there and this place looked amazing, I remember when I used to finish Small Group Rehearsals and come down here to find James and the boys sat here messing around, claiming to be rehearsing 
"Hey boys" I smiled as James and I finally walked over to them
"Oh it's just like the good old days now!" Theo chimed, seems like I am not the only one who remembers this then
I chuckled before taking my seat where I would usually sit. It was slightly off to the wings but close enough I could see them clear as day
Remembering being here just sends memories flooding back. I can't even describe half of them that went on here. I used to love coming here to sit and just listen to the band. These boys are talented and there was never a shadow of a doubt about that 
"So we here Miss Riley has been promoted?" Luke asked as the boys came over after finishing there set
"Yeah something like that" I smiled
"Does that mean we'll be seeing you less?" John asked and I shook my head
"more in fact. When I get a spare 5 minutes I'm bound to pop in because as much as I love Miss Kate there is only so much I can talk to her about" I laughed making all the boys laugh
"Well congratulations Riley." John replied
"How about we go out to celebrate?" James offered, I smiled at him and nodded
