James' POV
The following morning I was expecting to be woken up by the hundreds of alarms Riley had set, she didn't want to be late and I can't fault her for that. But instead I woke up to the light peaking through the curtain neither Riley or I closed. I turned over to see Riley still asleep next to me
7:28AM
We had exactly 2 minutes before Riley's alarms started, I smiled looking over at her looking so peaceful
"I can feel you staring at me" Riley mumbled with her eyes still closed but a small smile playing on her lips
"Can you blame me" I asked placing a kiss on her cheek causing her to smile more as she turned over burying her face into my chest
"Your alarms" I whispered hearing the first one already sounding
Riley groaned causing me to chuckle as I leant over to her nightstand turning it all off before laying back allowing Riley to cuddle up to me a little more
"We better get up" I said kissing the top of her head, Riley groaned again tightening her grip on my torso making me chuckle
"come on Ri" I said poking her sides causing her to squirm, she looked up at me with a glare on her face which made me smile more
"You know you love me" I said raising my eyebrows, she rolled her eyes kissing me before finally getting out of the bed

"And again!" I called watching as A-Troupe rehearsed. Riley and Miss Kate had walked off to sort out some paperwork leaving me to work with the kids
"James, what is it like" Piper asked as we all took a well deserved break
"Pipes, I won't lie. It's intense but you all are so clean that I don't have a shadow of a doubt that you'll smash it" I replied wrapping my arm around her
"What if I mess up my solo?" She asked placing her head on my shoulder, I chuckled laying mine on top of her
"Piper, you've worked on that Solo so much with Ri that I'm pretty sure the pair of you could do it in your sleep" I laughed making me chuckle too before looking at me
"This is where it happened huh" She replied and I nodded knowing what she was on about
"When did you know?" She asked, I looked at her and smile
"When did I know I loved her?" I asked and Piper smiled
The answer was simple
"Falling in love with Riley was the fastest thing I have ever experienced. The moment she agreed to by girlfriend back when we were 15. I knew I loved her, I knew it was always going to be her, she was the one person who believed in me when nobody else did" I replied making Piper smile sweetly
"I never thought I would live to see the day where you actually fell in love James" Piper chuckled
"I'm surprised Riley has put up with me for so long" I replied
"Eh you have your moments" I hear Riley say, Piper and I turned to see her stood there with Miss Kate slightly behind her
Riley's POV
A-Troupe were doing insanely well, not that we ever doubted them. We were through all of our rounds for the day and I couldn't be prouder of them all. Piper competed her solo and got an incredible score of 98! You can tell she was over the moon with the outcome
"Did you see those turns!" James said slightly wide eyed
"Your sister is incredible James, she was nervous for nothing" I chuckled as we watched Piper leave the stage
After a couple more moments, James and I got up from our seats walking backstage to see the team
As soon as we were in eye range, Piper made a B-Line straight to the pair of us, grabbing me into a hug
"Thank you thankyou thankyou" she sung making me laugh, I hugged her back looking over at James who had a pleasant smile on his face
"You did so good P" I smiled as we pulled away, Piper then went and hugged James before Finn joined us
"I can't believe how good you've gotten Pipesqueak" James said teasing her as usual, I shone a smile at Finn as he smiled widely at their interaction
"What are your plans for this evening?" I asked Piper and Finn
"We were just going to hang out with the Troupe" Finn said
"How about you guys come out with us instead?" James offered clearly already aware of my offer
"Yes hell yes" Piper sung making us all laugh
"Riley?" A voice said from behind us all making us all turn around. Now that was the last person I thought I would see here
"Alfie?" James growled, I took his hand giving it an extra squeeze
"What are you doing here?" I asked
"I'm one of the judges. I had no idea The Next Step were competing until I saw Piper" Alfie said nodding in her direction
"Don't worry. I'm not here for any drama, I merely just wanted to say hi to A-Troupe. I didn't even realise you were here" He said defending himself, I looked up at James
Alfie had a point, how was he to know I was here. Last he heard I went off to New York and that where it was all left
"hey man, I just wanted to say. I'm sorry for everything that happened" Alfie said offering James his hand
"I now realise how much of a dick I was" Alfie said sounding clearly sincere. I looked at James who was looking down at me as if asking what to do
"It's cool" James said shaking his hand
I won't lie, it took a lot of maturity for James to do that. I smiled up at him before watching as Alfie disappeared to see the rest of A-Troupe
"Are you okay?" I asked looking up at James, James looked down at me and smile before kissing me
"I won" He chuckled kissing me once more
