"Let's get this started then shall we?" I asked walking into the Rose Room. It was my afternoon lesson with Jonah. He reminds me a lot of myself when I was his age, god 5 years old was such an easy time, it isn't that well known but I would always play the drums day in and day out before Dance took over my life. I don't think I would have ever gotten back into it if it wasn't for the band "I don't know" Jonah said looking at his drumsticks in hand "come on little man, are you not ready to smash this?" I asked with my smile and Jonah looked at me and shook his head. Something was clearly wrong "What is going on Jonah? You are usually over the moon for this" I asked and he sighed putting his drumsticks down "I'm not allowed to talk about it" He muttered and I gave him a look "Jonah, it's just the two of us here. I'm not going to tell anyone" I told him, he looked at me and he has a glimmer of hope in his eyes "I saw my dad cheating on my mum this morning" he answered and I sighed sitting next to him on the stage "I'm sorry Jonah" I replied wrapping an arm around him "My mum is gonna leave my dad when she finds out, our whole family will be recked, they'll hate each other" he rambled "hey little man, I don't know you parents that well but they may not hate each other, they may work through it who knows?" I offered "Nobody ever works through it, after someone cheats they throw it away" He grumbled "Not true" I replied "How isn't it?" He asked and I smiled at him "Let's take a little trip? We can play when we get back?" I offered, he smiled and nodded
Now don't get me wrong, I don't know if this will help at all but maybe this is the little hope that Jonah needs We arrived at The Next Step and I walked Jonah over to the photo board, there were thousands of photos on this board but there are only two that matter in this scenario "You see that girl?" I asked pointing to a picture of Riley and I at nationals "Yeah? Dancing with you?" He asked and I nodded "Her name is Riley, this photo was taken a couple weeks after I had cheated on her, we worked through it all and came out a lot stronger then people realise. To the point we managed to win Internationals together" I replied pointing to the second photo "I didn't know you had a girlfriend" Jonah said and I sighed "I don't" I replied and Jonah furrowed his brow "Then how did you two get past it if after it all you walked away" he asked "Listen little man, we walked away not because of the cheating but because Riley had a big opportunity in New York and I couldn't let myself be the reason she would stay" I reminded him and he bowed his head "but she is back now and best believe I'm working on something special" I replied making him little head look up at me with that same glimmer of hope from earlier "Can I meet her? Is she here?" He asked, I looked at me watched to see that this was usually the time Riley would have finished her Mini Class "Yeah come on" I said guiding him to Riley's Corner
Best believe she was there and I don't think either Jonah or I were expecting what we saw Riley was stood in Riley's Corner dancing, dancing her best, I had never seen anything so gorgeous "You are a lucky man James" Jonah said tugging on my trousers, I chuckled and nodded "That I am" I replied The music finished and Riley came to a stop before smiling in the mirror finally noticing I was there. She quickly shifted and turned around to come face to face with me before realising Jonah "Hey! Who's this?" She asked taking a step closer to us, Riley crouched to Jonah's level "Ri, this is Jonah, Jonah this is Riley" I replied introducing the duo Riley reached for Jonah's hands giving them a little swing side to side "well it's lovely to meet you Jonah" She smiled "you are a pretty dancer" Jonah said making Riley smile with a little laugh "Well thankyou, I bet you are amazing on the drums" She replied and Jonah looked at me with the same look I had on my face "How did you know?" I asked "Because James, he does exactly what you do when hear music" she said raising her eyebrows "James don't teach me bad habittsssss" Jonah whined making both Riley and I laugh

A several hours had passed, the band and I were heading home after practice when John stopped us all "I just got a text from Michelle, asking if we want to meet her and Ri at a bar?" John asked, I looked at all the bars. I thought the girls were having a girls night in "So much for their girls night" Luke laughed "I take it we are going then?" Theo asked and we all nodded "knowing Michelle, they are probably both drunk" I laughed

I chuckled reading the caption, I'm surprise Ri managed to put together her usual caption with alcohol in her system Let's say, this duo should not be trusted when they are out drunk on their own "Here we are" Luke said pulling up to the bar As soon as we got inside our eyes searched for two girls we came here to find, it did not take us long to find them at all "There" Theo said pointing to the duo in the crowd dancing I'm pretty sure that the majority of guys in this place had their eyes on them and it was making all of our blood boil "Boys!" Riley yelled noticing us "You came!" Michelle yelled practically jumping into John's arms "She likes him" Riley tried to whisper to me but failed, I'm pretty sure the guys on the door heard her "Rileyyyy shush or I'll tell you secret" Michelle said placing her finger on Riley's Lips. Riley has a secret? "Do that and I'll tell them about Daxton" Riley said laughing "his name was Darren not Daxton, Daxton was his brother" Michelle said tripping as she stumbled, I looked at all the boys and we all nodded amongst ourselves "I've got Riley" I said lifting Riley up, she looked at me and pouted "Put the pout away" I said making her laugh and rest her head on my shoulder as I continued to carry her, I looked behind me to see Michelle on John's back almost asleep These girls certainly got themselves in a pickle
Luke dropped Riley and I off at her place and I decided to crash there, I figured that she could use the company when she is vomiting in the morning "Bedtime" I said guiding her to her room "Only if you sleep with meee" She whined and I shook my head "No Riley, you are drunk. Go to bed and you'll see me in the morning, I'm gonna crash on the couch" I replied, she looked at me with the same pout but instead I shook my head making her giggle as she ran into her room

It felt like I was just talking to Riley but next thing I know, I'm being woken up by her joining me on the sofa "What are you doing?" I asked "I wanted a hug" She whispered, I sighed opening my eyes as I laid on the sofa Riley quickly ran into my arms cuddling into my chest. God I remember when we used to do this when we were kids, mum used to constantly take photo's of us "I'm sorry" She whispered, I started to stroke her hair "You have nothing to be sorry for Riley" I replied "I still love you James" She whispered, I didn't say anything, I didn't know what to say "I still love you too Riley" I whispered before hearing her gentle snores. I think I left it too late, I think she fell asleep before I could reply I sighed before kissing the top of her head as I fell asleep with her still in my embrace
