Mesmerised

Chapter 4

I wake up to my alarm going off. I look around and Oscar isn't in my bed . He must be in the bathroom or something? I get up and look in my drawers and decide on some black ripped jeans. I go to my rack and decide on a a faded KIZZ shirt with my black beanie and my  white converse. I feed Boon, Nala, Milo, and my fish before heading down the ladder to wake up my siblings. I open up Tom's door and he's not in bed. I run to Sam's room and he's not there either. I run downstairs to the kitchen and find Sam and Tom eating pancakes at the island with Oscar in an apron with his fluffy gray hair tied back in a pony. " Oh hey Sordo come eat some breakfast!" He says cheerfully

" You know how to cook?" I ask

" Well out in the cave I always thrifted a lot of cook books and I memorized a lot of the recipes," He says

" You're so cool Oscar!" Says my little three year old brother Sam

" Why thank you, your cool too!" Oscar says and smiles. I sit down at the island and grab some pancakes and syrup. These are the best thing I've ever tasted " Oh my god Oscar these are amazing!" I say

" Thanks Sordo, I'm glad you like them," He says. I finish my pancakes and grab my backpack. 

" Hey Sam were gonna drop you off a little bit early because I need to talk to the principle at school, ok?" I say

" Alright Sord," he responds. Sord is a nickname he gave me when he was two two because he didn't know how to say Sordo. " Alright you ready to go Tom?" I ask

" Yep, ready to go big bro," He says

" Good rhyme," I say

" Thanks I've been practicing," Tom says proudly. I grab my backpack and yell to everyone 

" Alright everyone out the door," I grab Sam and start heading to the neighbors. I knock on their door. A middle aged lady answers the door. " Oh you must be Sordo your mother told me you were coming with Sam this morning. Here I can take him," She says holding her hands out. I set him down on the ground and he walks in the house. " Do you know what time someone will be over to pick him up?" She asks

" I think my mom will be over here around 2 to pick him up," I say

" Oh thank you dear, have a good day boys!" She yells as we walk away.

It's 7:30 right now and I want to get to school at 7:50 to talk to the principal. We all  walk in silence to the elementary school. It's 7:45 when we make it to the elementary school. " Bye Tom have fun today at school!" I yell

I then turn and walk with Oscar to the high school. I walk to the office and knock on the principals doors. She answers. " Hi, your the new student Sordo right?" she asks

" Yes I am, I would like to speak to you about something if that's ok?" I ask

" Yes that's perfectly fine, you two can step into my office," She says

We both step inside and sit down in the chairs. " Ma'am my friend here Oscar can't afford to pay for school but he wants to come with me so bad,"

" Well why can't his parents pay?" She asks

" Well that's the things ma'am, Oscar well ,he doesn't really have a family," I say

" Well why isn't he in the adoption system?" She ask yet again

" Well i'm not very sure ma'am all I know is he want's to learn and be with friends and make new ones," I say truthfully

" Well I suppose I could ask the state if they could pay or if someone would volunteer to adopt him?"

" That sounds great, but for today could he accompany me to get used to the environment?"

" Whatever, sure,"
