Chapter 10

I'm just getting back into town and Oscar is still asleep. I head over near the skate park and park my car. I sit there and just listen to music for half an hour waiting for Oscar to wake up. " Mmm," I hear from the back of the car. " Where are we?" Oscar asks

" Hey there Oscar, you doing okay?" I ask

" Where are we?" he asks groggily

He looks around confused, like a child.

" Well after the pool I was planning on teaching you how to skate,"

" But I don't know how to skate?"

" That's why I was going to teach you, alright?"

" Really! I still wanna learn, I just want to take my mind off what just happend though," he says

" That's okay, what do you want to do?" I ask

" Ummm can we cuddle for a little bit first?" He says, holding his arms out for me to hug him. 

" Of course," I say 

I crawl into the back seat and I cuddle up next to Oscar. We just sit there and listen to music. After about 10 minutes Oscar sits up and opens the door. " Hey where are you going?" I ask

" Your going to teach me how to skate, right?"

" Yeah i'm coming just let me grab the keys," 

I sit up and I reach to the front of the car and grab the keys. I hop out of the car and shut the door. I pop the trunk and grab my skateboard. I grab Oscar's hand and lead him to the edge of the park. I set down the board and help Oscar up on to it. " Okay, now what?" he asks

" Now were going to work on moving forwards," 

" So how do I stand?"

" Well do you ride left or right foot?"

" Huh?"

" Ummm ok, put each foot in front of another on the board and which one feels more comfortable?" 

He shuffles his feet and eventually finds a comfortable footing. 

" okay now position your front foot in the center of the board, your toes should be behind those front screws on the board," 

He repositions his foot on the board. He places his other foot on the ground trying to keep balance. 

" Okay now when moving forward you want it to kinda be like your walking, alright?"

" Okay, let me try," 

He picks up his foot and starts pushing forward and moving around. " I think I got the hang of it, but how do I stop!" he yells

" Oh god, just stop pushing!" I yell as I run after him 

" There's a ramp what do I do!" He screams

Oscar goes up the ramp and back down, straight into me. He crashes into me and falls off the board. We fall onto the ground, Oscar on top of me. " Ugh, my head hurts, I think I hit it," I say

" Oh my god, are you okay! Sordo how many fingers am I holding up?" Oscar asks

I look up at him, I can't tell everything is blurry. " There are 6?" I guess

" Oh my god we gotta get you to a hospital!"

Oscar says as he stands up and starts to pace.

" N-no I had a big surprise for you," I say trying to sit up
