Data Log: I Promised

I return to school the following Monday.

I step on campus and feel a sense of euphoria wash over me.

Ms. Aoi made some small modifications and now I can feel some physical equivalents of emotions.

Quite literally, a quick, cool sensation goes down my body.

I venture to class, not bumping into any classmates somehow.

However, when I step inside.

"Y/N!!!"

Everyone erupts in cheer and a few leap up to embrace me.

"Oh Y/N! I'm so glad you're okay!"

Pony's voice is loudest, almost sobbing as she speaks.

"I thought you were going to die!" She shrieks, clinging to my blazer.

I smile softly and pat her head.

"I'm okay, just a simple check up on my progress and seeing if I need modifications."

She smiles up at me, seeming content with my answer.

I look and see Monoma watching from his desk.

He's fully facing me in his seat, hands on the back of his chair, ready to embrace.

"I don't know why you were all so worried, I'm fine."

"You were on the verge of tears," Kendo walks up, raising an eyebrow, "And then you were whisked away by a strange dude."

"Why wouldn't we be worried?"

Komori leaps forth, her eyes peering through her bangs.

Even Vlad King seems joyful at my return.

"We're all glad you're alright, Y/N. We were all concerned for you."

His deep voice shakes the room as I beam.

We all retreat to our seats and through my peripherals, I see Monoma's hand reached out between out seats.

I reach out my hand, slowly and delicately intertwining our fingers.

Neither of us comment, but I gently press for his pulse.

It's faster than normal.

We hold hands all throughout class, no one noticing. That is greatly appreciated, because I really do enjoy it.

Classes end rather quickly when I recall something.

As we leave class, he walks up. He has his hands up to his chest, although his eyes meet mine with utmost contradicting confidence.

I wave off Tetsu and Kendo as they go on without me.

"Hello, Kaminari. I assume you recalled our agreement?"
